bollocks! we still need a lw....

Why? You couldn't play a proper left winger with Lennon anyway, we don't have the CM's to deal with the onslaught.

A combative LM in his natural position is perfect for us.

Bring on Matty Taylor.

Don't need him without clearing out some deadwood first.

We have plenty of options for the left once people return from injury, starting with Bale.

lol plenty of options down the left?????? what Bale!!! who else. Oh yeah , BAE, Lee and steed all of which are right footed. Its all about balance and with only one left footer in Bale we need at least one more.

I like Matty Taylor. Sweet left foot, hard workign, good offensively or defensively. I think he would give us balance and for around 5 mill would be a great signing. Add in his a spurs boy and its all gravy.

We need left footers just to round off the team. I think Taylor would do that

agreed, signing taylor would give us more option and time in the transfer market to find the right player to play wide left, the good thing i see with taylor is that i think he would accept a bit part role once we have succeded in buying a top player for his position.

After this last weeks appauling events i don't think any top player would think about joining the club at this moment in time. The rest of the window could now be a write off. Still with Bale, Lennon, Dawson, Berbatov and the King all back soon it's not all bad.

i wonder if this might happen and then the board could try to recoup some faith by saying "look we back Jol by buying another player he wants"

They need some serious PR this could start the ball rolling

I hope we get this guy, he would be a great addition to the team. Those who believe he wouldn't improve us, wear rose tinted glasses I'm afraid.

Fact is we have no width. Gareth Bale along is not experienced enought to fill that gap - I am sure those people saying he is, were exactly the ones slagging off Walcott before his call up to the England set up...

Matty Taylor is proven, consistent and does very very well for Portsmouth who are not a bad team at all.

Bring him in, if we can.

Matt Taylor is a good player but because we have bale taylor is not needed. What is needed is a Joe Cole type player who operates on the left hand side but comes in field. We have width in lennon and routledge on the right

If Taarabt can dramatically improve his decision making him and steed could alternate the left wing position as long as we have an out an out right winger playing on the right

What's this got to do with the price of fish?

They're totally different situations. Bale already has 1 full season in the Championship with a side which made the playoffs, he's also a full international. So why the hell can't he play full time for his club?

Lets be honest if Walcott was welsh he would have international experience.

Neither of them have/had premiership experience, and spurs need someone who can come in and compete at the highest level... not someone who might be able to step up.

Bale will need experience alongside, in front and behind him... not rocket science my friend.

I'm not saying that he won't cut it, but we need results now... not later in the year.

I jsut cannot agree I'm afraid.
We failed against Sunderland and Everton because we had no width. We played centrally and its easy to anticipate for organise oppostion.

Width is required to assist in breaking through the midfield and down the defences. We do not need a left handed player who will cut in, as this just caused a slight traffic jam...

We see it all the time, we will not break into the top four playing like this I'm afraid.

The Sun said yesterday that the move was off due to the current *problems*.
A mate of mine is a Pompey fan however and he says according to his *source* its on but the haggling is over a the Fee right now, with the window closing Pompey will hold out.

i'm not sure we can believe a word redknapp says but if anyone does he did say yesterday that there have definatly beeen no bids from tottenham for matt taylor or even any interest

We have Bale to play left midfield. I still think we don't need Taylor
