Ok gang the word from my source is that MT is now desperate to join the mighty Spurs. He has even said that he hates Harry and the way he runs things at Pompey (lots of dodgy dealings going on all the time apparently). The sticking point is the fee, however with that being said I’m told it is still more likely to happen than not.

I jsut cannot agree I'm afraid.
We failed against Sunderland and Everton because we had no width. We played centrally and its easy to anticipate for organise oppostion.

Bale, Lennon and Routledge - not one of whom played against Sunderland - will give us plenty of width.

We kept a good deal of width, all the way up the pitch, against Derby and Man U - and that was without Lennon.

Taylor is OK, but I'm not going to get excited about him.

I do actually agree with you.
Against Utd we looked much more balanced, and I was very impressed with Bale, but its just one game, so I cannot get over excited.

Surely no-one can argue that having Taylor would give us much more depth in the squad!

I would gladly spend 9 million for Gareth Barry if we had the option of his signature

I'd love to see Taylor by tommorow. Decent player, and cover for two positions we need cover for.

I don't really understand why we need Taylor so badly??

Bale looked pretty darn good against the champs and Lee and BAE can cover left back, Rocha and Gardner can also cover there if both of those two are injuried so I don't really understand why we need Taylor so badly but I guess depth at left winger couldn't hurt but I won't let the man juices squirt out if we sign him.

Of course we need Taylor. If we get him, we have two players that can either play left mid of left back (Bale and Taylor), we would have Lee at left back and cover for right back, and BAE is simply not good enough. Its all about having versatile players these days.

Beniot Assou-Ekotto needs time. He will prove to be an excellent buy.

Lee, Ekotto, Bale and Taylor would give us pretty good depth on the left. If we don't have to spend silly money he'd be a good purchase.

Grated it looks pretty solid, but none of them offer flair or imagination. We're all really hoping for a proper left sided specialist, ginola esc. I guess?!

If our flair is coming from the right, we need reliability on the left. Otherwise we'll be overrun. Taylor is perfect for our needs. Bale looked good, but he can't play 60 games this season. Get him in!!

Could we afford to have Lennon and a Ginola type player on our wings, would offer not alot of defensive cover for Lee/Bale and Chimy, neither Lennon or a Ginola type like to look back towards there own goal.
Taylor knows how to defend as well as move forward, i dont pretend to have seen alot of Taylor, but from what i have seen he has a sweet left foot, can get past a player and whip decent crosses in and as we have all seen weighs in with a fair amount of *spectacular* goals.

If there was that sort of player available I'd be delighted, but as that is highly unlikely at this stage I think just getting some balance is a good plan.

Whats the money being touted for him at the moment then. I've read on here 8mil 5 mil and 6mil (don't know why I wrote them in that order) but whats the word today? Is he even still a target?

I'm just asking.
