my bad Walker-PetersCan't wait to sign Walker-Phillips. Looks a cracking prospect.

Also if a bigger club comes in offering the sort of money we can’t then what can we do?
Fortunately Poch understands this even if some of our whiny bitch fans don’t.
Woah, woah, woah. I hope the 'whiny bitch fans' wasn't aimed this way. There's no moaning or bitching going on. I would be amazed if Poch had highlighted De Ligt, with his 2nd choice being Hegazi. I also didn't say this was fact did I?
99% of paper talk is bullshit, but its something to discuss. Unless you're at the top table you have no idea what our targets are, so we can solely go on what the media present to us. If we can't discuss that without being called whiny bitches then we might as well sack off this forum.
We don’t only have the media to go on. We have our own intelligence and common sense.
Not aimed specifically at anyone.
Every summer we get people completely warped by transfer talk. They think we will get a certain target then when it doesn’t the board get slaughtered for something usually out of their hands.
If De Ligt is our number one target then great I hope we put in a bid and try to get him. If he decides a different option is more suitable then it is disappointing but not the end of the world.
Certainly not a reason for Poch to tear up his contract.

@stevenurse *Winner" , you bastard
As opposed to married Kuwaiti singles...
He can bloody well do what's required of him.Dier will probably ask to leave if he has to drop back to CB full time.
I seem to recall that he was quite important in the run of games that saw us cement our first CL qualification. Scored at least one cracking free kick and put in some good performances. But that just served to fuel the feeling of what might have been, unfortunately.Bentley was a good player but did not have to mental drive to fulfil his potential...it was actually a sad state in the end for him, he just drifted into the shadows
Absolutely right, without him that season we wouldn't have made the Champions League and no amount of shit thrown in his direction can alter that fact.As opposed to married Kuwaiti singles...

I'd like to think I was quite reasonable and have very rarely slaughtered the board for our signings, especially in recent years where the market has gone mental. I'm not personally going overboard and whatever will be, will be. However I couldn't hide my disappointment if we signed someone significantly less talented than our confirmed top targets. Realism is one thing, but not finding anyone in between De Ligt and Hegazi would be a puzzler.
Especially with our own information about breaking our record signing and club wanting a big marquee signing for the stadium etc.
All with massive doses of sodium, I guess the excitement of early summer and even in January with hints of big things to come, joined with all fans being inpatient just equates to frustration in some cases.
De Ligt or as a second choice, Jonathan Tah should be the players we should target.
I’d be recruiting from Ajax and the German league as we can afford the fees and wages and they produce quality.
I just wish we would tie up deals in the season like Liverpool did with Keita.
Think De Ligt would be a great replacement for Toby.
I would have said he was a young talent, but not proven at a higher level. Anyway maybe I used him as a bad example but I hope you got the overall point.David Bentley wasn’t deemed to be a ‘risky, young prospect’. He was already proven to be a highly consistent performer in the Premier League, hence the large fee. He just didn’t replicate that level when he came to us.
I think it will be more like Walker - Walker was sorted last summer, the day before he would have had to report to Spurs.
I think Alderweireld, assuming he makes it through the WC with no injury, will be sorted right before he would have to report to Spurs. I don't see it being done before the WC. No incentive for another team to take that injury risk.
Coming off an injury, with effectively 1-year on his contract, and a team looking to sell - I would not be rushing to buy until after the WC. Only a handful of teams would be interested in Toby, and Toby interested in them - and those teams are not price sensitive.Surely the incentive would be to sign him before his price goes up on the back of a great world cup? Belgium are 5th favourites and will be expecting to make it to at least the quarter finals. If anything it's probably us that wouldn't want to sell him until after the tournament.

Last thing you want is to buy an injury prone player, and then see him injured in the WC.
Tah signed a new 5 year contract 3 months ago.
