I wasn't really aiming it at you. I can see you haven't been a member long but if you hang around Spurs chat you'll soon see what I mean. I am waiting for the day where Dawson get's blamed for something when he's not even playing. Someone will probably say he dropped one in the changing room which lingered so long it distracted Sherwood from his half time team talk, or something.

Actually I quite like Dawson. And I'm not one for scapegoating. I mean, I used to stick up for Jenas all the time over on COYS, which saw me get some right abuse.

Respect him plenty. Just wish he would learn from his mistakes. He gets done on the half-way line every bloomin time.
Any defender who isn't that quick will get "done". Is he meant to somehow become 5000% faster?

Please Mr Dawson, refrain from the consistent impression of being a footballer. You've made a nice career out of being nothing more an old fashioned English centre half/cart horse. The game has passed you by and unfortunately you're making a mug of yourself each and everytime you enter the field of play. It wouldn't be too big a stretch to say that I shit myself everytime the ball goes anywhere near you. Why you persist with trying to bring the ball out of defence when literally my 2 year old is more comfortable with a football is one of the conundrums of life. Why you persist with constantly banging the ball over the heads of the numerous technically gifted football players the club has paid millions to bring in is another curiosity of life. Why you persist in jumping in miles from your own box and allowing player after player to just glide past you, well, I don't know. I'm sure you get the picture. Please move on and take your rightful place as a Championship level defender, at best, and allow this grand football club to begin to look vaguely like it has a clue in how to defend.

Many thanks.

A fan.

who do u support? le arse? As bad as the opening of this thread.

I'm not sure what's funnier: Dawson's 'performances' or the fact there are still supporters defending him.

How many points does he have to cost us before he's gone ? He's a liability. Or course, he 'runs his blood to water' and 'gives 100%' etc. All those other idioms that folk come up with to defend inadequate ability.

If he played for any other of the top clubs, we'd be licking our lips everytime we faced them.

And stop your thunderbolt long balls upfield as they are a gift to the opposition. mr Dawson have you noticed the opposition don't even bother marking you when you have the ball in your own half as they are know you will waste the opportunity to do something with the ball.

How many of those long balls did he misplace yesterday ?

This post stinks. Whatever your opinion of him as a player, what happened to respect?

Really not that outragous saying Michael Dawson gets done when he tries to make a challenege at the centre circle because he does. Quite a bit actually, enough to make a 'best of Michael Dawson getting done at the centre circle' compilation video I reckon.

Lets be honest he does do this, in fact last nights goal came from him trying to win the ball ten yards inside their half. He missed the challenge and left Jan with two forwards running at him, not letting Jan off the hook but he was left exposed ( again) by Dawson.

It's got nothing to do with how quick or how slow he is. It's just that every time he closes a player on the half-way line he gets done all ends up. Why does he keep doing it?

Inside and around the box he can be superb, but when gets near that half-way line and has to press...

Supporters support.

It's not a case of blindly accepting his faults, it's a case of willing everyone who is in the side to do well as, for us to do well, they need to do well.

Clearly a concept lost on you.

The way he's playing, we might have missed the chance of collecting 10 million pounds for him. He's going downhill real fast.

That season that dear old 'Arry' led us to fourth spot and a place in the champions league play-off's, you know the one, the same one where we conceades the least amount of goals in the EPL if I remember correctly, could someone remind me which two players turned out in the centre back positions for the majority of games please?

You do realize sometimes Dawson prevents goals against us as well as causing them?

Actually you probably don't because you can't be bothered to even notice.

Everyone knows that if Kaboul is fit Dawson doesn't get a look in, but to call him a championship defender is nonsense.

Chriches's was a good signing but his faults are ignored because he's a far more technically accomplished footballer than Dawson. Yet his defending regularly get exposed as he dribbles up the pitch, into a blind alley and then falls over.

Dear Michael,

Prob won't remember me, used to play footy with your older brother Andrew at school. But it never ceased to amaze me how both of you worked your absolute bollocks off to get where you are, and that both you played for my two favourite clubs... Andrew at Scnthorpe, and yourself at Spurs. Honest, honourable, down to earth, god's honest Yorkshireman, and I'm honoured to have you at my club. A lot of teams would wish to have a player as heart on their sleeve and dedicated as you.

Fucking ledge'

Sincerely, GF

Some of the comments in here are disgraceful, whatever you think of him as player, have some respect. As a person he seems a top bloke and a gent.

Anyway don't blame Daws, blame the manager for picking him. He probably shouldn't be captain since his place isn't certain, and our best pairing is definitely younis and jan. Vlad would also be pushing for the third spot in all honesty. Seems tim may be starting to realise this considering our last pl lineup. Still think he is a valuable squad member.

No you don't. If you did then you wouldn't have made that post. That makes you a liar. It also makes you a hypocrite. Found out.

Any knowledgeable football fan will be aware of Daws shortcomings.

What irks many on here is the absolute refusal to slag other players who are as guilty of even more glaring errors.

And what is worse, those who make those errors don't even have moments in the match when they make clear goal attempt blocks, putting body and soul on the line, like Daws does.

A bit more equality in the slagging of individuals is needed.
