Maybe if we was to get Ozil (Wishful thinking I know) then 'Arry would sign Klose because of their partnership for Germany as on form they were devastating it's just about getting Klose's club form as good as international level.

harry often talks about a hole player, thats why he wanted Cole

Ozil will fit that bill, but if you listen to gooners he's going Arsenal, and according to ManU fans he's off to Manchester, they dont even consider that he will pick Spurs over their teams

Klose's club level form has been very far from his international form though, I believe he only scored 3 times for his club last season.

I suppose his international form shows he is a goal scorer and he could benefit from playing with the same partnerships (ozil) that be profits from at the top level.

He may find our league too physical and fast paced though, there must be a reason he has never been as prolific at club level as he has for his national team (international football may just suit him)

If I remember Bayern tried to replicate international form by signing both him and Poldoski without or atleast very limited success.

It would be an option I suppose, but I really do think the striker we bring in needs to be our key signing this summer...although if we do sign someone like Ozil we would be very creative and really only need a Lineker/Allen type clinical finisher (Hunterlaar perhaps)

I think we need to clarify something, here: it is wishful thinking that we can get Ozil, I wish it to happen...so I am thinking wishfully. Ialso believe it is a possibility. It will take all of Dan Levy's persuasive powers to make it so, but it is possible.

Klose...no; Podolski...no; not unless we can get Joachim Low for manager, as he seems to be the only punter that can actually get them to score (quite a vital ingredient for a striker, wouldn't you say:grin:).

I agree with what you say there but I feel if any league is similar to England is the German league in terms of style and pace. A lot of German players that have come over have settled in quick and easily but it maybe difficult for a 32 to get settled in time. He was once a good club player as well when he was at Weder Bremen it's probably just been Bayern has never been a good match for him. However I have to agree that a sensible choice would be a clinical striker as long as we have a creative player like Ozil behind them.

I agree that the German league is most similar league to our own, but Klose is more suited and successful in international football than he has been in his league (so if anything he is less successful in a league similar to our own)

Who knows, even Pav may benefit from playing consistantly in a team with so much creativity. Stranger things have happened and Harry might just get the best out of him and help him perform to his best week in week out.

Pav is a strange one, sometimes he looks every bit the clinical striker yet another day he may not be able to hit a barn door. What I will say about him is he does have a knack of getting in good postions and does not shy away from shooting even when he has had a string of poor misses.

If we were able to sign Ozil and someone who could allow Modric the freedom to do what he does best we would be an extremely creative team what with Lennon on the right too and we could find any one of our current strikers profiting greatly from this creativity (although Defoe would struggle with anything not at foot level you would assume)

we are never going to get ozil.

If you absolutely certain that we will never get Ozil, perhaps you would like to lay odds on it.
I will be fair with you...I will accept 20,000-1 (although by rights, if it is never going to happen, you should be happy to go much higher). I'll have 50pence on that, thanks...so if he does ever sign for us you owe me £10 grand:wink:

Pav would've been banging them in for fun in Germany. It's similar sort of but more space, specially if you're with one of the better teams..

A guy called Christian Machowski, a German who works in sports management reckons the asking price is 16m euros & no-one has made a firm offer yet. The info is backed by Daniel Taylor from the Guardian (all via Twitter).

There. For. The. Taking.

Sorry, 16m euros? That's got to be a typo, at that price any number of clubs would've had their arm off for him by now, unless of course they've been made aware he is incredibly unreasonable with his contract demands...

16m for someone with one year left on his contract though. rumours were saying real wanted him to sit out the year and join on a free, and you'd imagine many clubs might be thinking the same. But even so his sell on value means he should make sense to Danny boy...maybe not, but the fact is the only way we'd have a smidgen of a chance is if we can make a huge offer for someone with a year left, more than others will countenance as he fits our policy entirely and try and work with bremen to persuade him towards us rather than screwing them and leaving for nothing...

I'm guessing there's been a lot of interest but just no firm offers. Marca are reporting Real are talking with Werder hoping to do tie up a deal now for the player to move in a years time. The 16m euros also ties in with the £12m links in the UK press. Does seem exceptionally cheap especially on the back of his World Cup performance but WB do need to sell this summer & he only has a year left on his contract when he could leave for peanuts.

I say give them the 16m euros now, ask questions later!
