I would probably say we shift 2 players and bring one in.

Sell Sessegnon and (or let go) Peresic. Bring in a replacement for LB to cover/push Udogie
Sell PEH and Skipp bring in a defensive midfielder.

I still think we need better wide players up top. Johnston though showing good signs, isn't beating him man as much as I expected, but has the pace and is getting better. Solomon is back soon hopefully so might help also, but if we can pick up some youths (Soule/nusa type player) even if we loan them back for a rest of this season or next also if needed like Udogie and sarr.

Kelly and Gallagher to complete the CB/CM set as I suspect these are opportunist purchases where current price/availability/lack of competition means we can get these deals done now but maybe not in the Summer.

Along with PEH, Reggie, Gil, Sess out the door if possible to get some of that money back and clear the decks for the Summer.

I'd rate the outs and the clubs intent this window 9/10.

We can only rate the players coming in when the season finishes.

Shop window loan for Gil and he could be a useful makeweight in any summer deal where we like a young player from Europe.
Tanganga still floating about, this might well be a case of someone taking him for nowt.
Reggie, PEH and Skipp aren't long term, we all know the score there.

I think whatever happens next will be opportunity signings that still fit the direction we're going in, like a Lloyd Kelly or Gallagher, maybe a youngster we buy and let stay at the selling club until seasons end,
Onions.

Great start to the window. Am I right thinking no other Prem team has bought anybody of note, and not just our rivals?

No idea on our immediate financial position but my guess is we’ll need to sell if we are to buy another player with any significant value.

Hopefully we’ll finalise the sale of Dier and maybe Hojbjerg.

If we can then bring in Gallagher or maybe a young midfielder that’d be great.

But if this is the end of our incomings, I’d still be happy with the window.

So far id say its a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 depending on what happens towards the end of the window. With that in mind..

Obviously this is unrealistic in regards to the amount of moves BUT if we are doing ideal moves from here on out i'd go with something like the below. It also wouldn't require a lot financially -

Outs
Reggy - (probably best we can get is a loan but ideally with obligation)

PEH - (would trade him with Juve for ether Yildez or Soulé)

Gil - (Like the kid but I think Soule, Yildez and Nusa all look better talents. Would probably be a loan but ideally we get a obligation)

Donley - (LOAN needs constant first team football)

Skipp* - (i would actually keep him now but look to move him on come summer and give his spot to Devine)

In's

Lloyd Kelly - (Makes sense for a low fee)

Hayden Hackney - (for me makes more sense getting a youngster and the more I read and watch him the more I rate him and think he'd be perfect for the system) OR

Yusuf Fofana*** - (IF we decided we wanted to spend more on a CM/DM and don't mind him being from abroad then this should be the player we go for but Hackney is probably the more sensible move)

Matías Soulé or Kenan Yildez - (swapped with Juve for PEH and dependant on Gil going. Can stay on loan in Soule's case)

Antonio Nusa - (loaned back, would probably relate to the above as Yildez, who is also mega talented, plays in the same position. If we were to only add one WF its a hard choice as with Kulu looking more like a no 10 then a RW these days a RW might be the better move but Nusa & Yildez, both LW, look incredible talents)

That would leave us next season with -

(? = future up in the air & * = yet to be purchased)

CF - Richy?, Werner?, Son, Veliz
LW - Son, Solomon?, Nusa*, Werner?, Johsnon
RW - Johnson, Kulu, Soule*, Nusa*
AM - Maddison, Kulu, Gio?, Donley
CM - Bentancur, Sarr, Gio?, Hackney*, Devine?
DM -Biss, Bentancur, Hackney*
LB - Udogie, Davies, Sess?, Kelly*
LCB - VDV, Kelly*, Davies, Radu
RCB - Romero, Radu, Royal,
RB - Porro, Royal,

There are obviously still a number of question marks there, CF being a big one. Will Werner warrant being purchased and will Richy earn his spot going forward. Solomon who knows, he looks to have the skill set but we have no idea currently. Gio, big fan of him and want him to stay and sign an extension personally but with his contract and injuries it is a topic that will need to be discussed come summer. Sess, who knows, probably will need upgrading but maybe if he can stay fit and Ange can reinvent him then we are golden. Devine might need another loan but we could also give him Skipps spot if we are concerned about numbers. There is also the reserve GK question that probably needs to be addressed at some point.

Realistically im expecting Reggy gone and thats it. Im not convinced PEH will go this window as I don't think we will receive an offer we deem acceptable but in an ideal world the above or something similar is what i'd do.

Think it's just a question whether the right player is available this window now. Otherwise stick until the summer. Kelly and Gallagher were both linked in the summer so they are clear targets so if either or both are available then get them in.

We could do with a midfielder as next priority but only if the right one is available. Otherwise Skipp and Hojbjerg will do a job for now. It won't be long until Sarr and Bissouma are back. Another centre back would be needed at some point (unless Ange wants to keep Davies there) but again only if the right one comes up now.

Happy with the squad now so no rush to get players in.

Once we get Son, Sarr and Bissouma back I think we'll be fine until the summer. I'm not greedy.
Yeah the AFCon/Asian Cup really distorts. It feel like we’re really short in midfield and attack but those holes plug pretty quickly in Feb.

I think Kelly makes some sense if reasonable. Allows us to loan Phillips and Dorrington for 1-2 seasons and no way we can be short at Cb.

I’d love to do 1-2 loan back type deals for Vermeeren / Nusa types

If I was being super greedy then Skipp & PEH out and replaced by another quality CM more suited to Ange's system.

One thing I think we should def keep an eye on is future HG players. So for example Vermeeren and Nusa if we bought ether now and registered them even if we loaned them out both would become HG but if we waited until summer then both would be 19 as their birthdays are in Feb and April respectively so neither would qualify. Bardghji doesn't turn 19 until Nov so there is no rush. I just think its something we should keep in mind when looking at the long term structure of the squad. If we have targets that we like and have the opportunity to get them in so they become HG then that is very much something we should focus on for this window.

Beyond that I agree, whilst an upgrade for PEH say would be ideal he's done a very solid job for us thus far and there is no reason to think he won't for the second half.

Out
Reguillon
Perisic
Gil
Hojbjerg
Skipp? (Would depend on who we bought in.)

In
Kelly
Phillips/Gallagher
*Vermeeren
*Nusa
*Bardghji

*could be these deals are buy now for the summer like we did with Sarr and Udogie. However, worth looking at if we did bring them in now could they end up being classed as HG.

It seems a lot to do in January, but does seem achievable given the relative contract situation and levels of sides we’d be dealing with, I think that would really set us up for the remainder of this season, but also provide us with some serious additional talent for seasons to come. Would mean minimal further changes required in the summer so we can really have the squad gelled.

Vicario, Forster(new GK summer), Austin
Porro, Emerson
Udogie, Davies, Sessegnon
Bentancur, Bissouma, (Vermeeren)
Romero, Dragusin, (Phillips)
Van De Ven, Kelly, (Dorrington)
Kulusevski, Johnson, (Bardghji)
Sarr, Gallagher, (Devine)
Richarlison, Werner, (Veliz)
Maddison, Lo Celso, (Donley)
Son, Solomon, (Nusa)

Just need a development RB and LB, unless we have some in the system.

It's a good plan and worked well for Sarr. We just have to be sure they're going to be better than the academy players. We do need to keep investing in the future though. The more prospects we have the better chance they make it. Generally only a small number make it anyway so it's not a bad thing to have players on loan abroad who can come in over pre season for Ange to work with.

The Udogie and Sarr contract extensions may be prove to be the best business of the window. The feel good vibe is amazing at the moment

Great window so far. Maybe Kelly as the long-term Davies replacement but we could probably wait until the summer. I would like to see us go for Fernandez from Boca as another 6/8 rotation to replace PEH. If Jack Clarke goes to West Ham i think we should talk to Sunderland regarding Jobe Bellingham with a deal to forgo our sell on of Clarke + cash deal in the summer. If he's half the player his brother is he could be a great 8 for us in a few years.

if we qualify for European competition we need to have 4 club trained players so we may need to keep Scarlett/Parrott in addition to Whiteman/Austin

If we have the money I would be looking to bring in Alex Scott from Bournemouth asap before is stock rises to far. It would relieve the creative pressure on Maddison. For teams that go defensive, it would be great to have both players creating opportunities.
