We have 1 point from 2 winnable home games. Title challenge is already over.
That's the spirit.

My point was, adding skriniar brings our squad near enough on par with Liverpool, arguably the best club in the league (hence the some form of title challenge, aka within 10 points, not like last season).
I see your point. If in e.g. April we loose a game which cost us a TOP 4 everybody would moan "ohh all we had to do is win this one game". And it actually doesn't matter which game you lost first or last, they all are worth 3 points. Although I would not agree on Liverpool or other teams. I think it's still to early to really judge teams. We only have 4 points but it feels that we need that one 'click' to start banging goals and wins. Arsenal won comfortably with Fulham but is playing worse and worse with everygame. I'm still far for judging any team ability this season.Who's throwing the towel in? I think it could be highly likely to have another season in touching difference but those 5 points already dropped are like the 8 points we were behind Chelsea or the gap we had to catch up to Leicester it is very hard to make up that kind of gap on very consistent teams.
He's a fantastic CB, who would fit in perfectly to Mourinho's system. Added to the moves we've already made, and early positive signs with Ndombele potentially turning it around, I really feel we're in for a good season.wow you really have high hopes for Skriniar.

So now Skriniar is the difference between us winning the title and finishing 6th. Got it.
Feel like I've been misinterpreted a bit here. I think we'll have a great season regardless, but as someone above has already stated, getting Skriniar in addresses our remaining weakness. The sort of signing that could help elevate us, as VVD did to Liverpool a few seasons back. Anyways, I'll stop clogging up this thread now.So now Skriniar is the difference between us winning the title and finishing 6th. Got it.
Playing deeper doesn’t stop ndombele from being creative, was pirlo not creative? He has the potential to be very good. But he has had an off season and would likely need a fair amount of time before adapting to PL. We still only have on truly creative player in Lo Celso (I do not see Ndombele working as good in that position, he is better a bit further down) so we are still weak in depth in som positions.

Skriniar would mean all weaknesses in the squad have been addressed
You also have to consider what our plans for a Skipp might be tooIf I were to nit-pick I'd say we still need another DM, but that will have to wait 'til next window/ next season. Ship out Sissoko and bring in a good DM to rotate / compete with Hojbjerg. Apart from that the squad is looking good.

The 4231 system is becoming outdated so where would an eriksen type player fit into a 433/343.Yes but what Im talking about is creativity further up the pitch. Ndombele is great and our new Dembele but just as we did need an Eriksen with Dembele we need a Lo Celso with Ndombele. And if Lo Celso gets injured, we have no one.
