It does, doesn't it? I guess that's why I said Huntelaar's a superior version of Pav.

No, I don't hate Pav. I just don't think he's much cop, and certainly not £14m' worth.

So basically what you are saying is, the fact that we have 4 strikers is immaterial because we don't really have the team to compete for the top 4 anyway - as teams like manu, liverpool, arsenal, chelsea are all better all over the field! and all we have is 4 good strikers, so we need to keep them all to even stand a chance....

I am not sure I see your argument - We need at least 4 strikers to compete in this league, because we are so shit in all other areas of the field - the only way we can compete is buy banging in more goals from our strikers than others?

Well i guess we have a bigger problem then, if this is true, maybe we should get rid of some of those strikers anyway and get more quality in other areas, then we can be more like the Sky 4?

Sorry but to reiterate, i don't agree, I think your right, the sky 4 do have better quality all over the pitch which is why they don't need 4 strikers, but we are getting better - we don't need 4 strikers either to compete with them, 3 is enough, and the backups I have mentioned. Obviously we need to improve in other areas to get and stay in the top 4, but keeping 4 top strikers, and one or two unhappy on the bench is not the way to do it?

So to get back to the original topic, we don't need to keep Pav unhappy on the bench.......we have others who can do a good job if needed, and hopefully we have enough players around the team to start to compete at a higher level........and hopefully a few more come Jan......

No, I'm saying that we have a fairly rigid system of 4-4-2 that works well. The players we can employ in this system can do it well, but when we try to shift around we often struggle. For this reason I think it's important to have adequate backup in all areas of the system, and that means 4 good strikers.

I'd like to think that we can continue to gradually improve and buy in (or develop) more quality all over the pitch, so that we have have a more fluid set up, but as it is we must play to our strengths to keep up. Plus, I'm not really comparing us with the Sky 4 at this stage, that's just a dream for the future. Top 6 is more likely. But, I shall join you in an optimistic beer chug to hopefully continue this improvement!

I hope we can become a more fluid team than just a bog standard 442, I think with Modric, Kranjcar, Jenas, Palacios, Hudd, maybe Sandro in Jan, we can - speaking of a fluid system  cheers!

The only problem is that Ramos was trying to institute something more fluid than a 4-4-2 (there was def. some method in the madness there, I thinkEek).

What is absolutely vital, and I think this is where Ramos was falling down, is that for this 'something more fluid' to work tou def. need intelligent players and good communication. Apparently, it didn't matter what type of intelligence the players had under Ramos 'cos that couldn't understand jack-shit:cry:

Tottenham Hotspur Step Up Interest In AC Milan Striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar - Report
Reports in Italy claim the English club are about to fire up the piston that will get a move for Huntelaar turning in the right direction...

Nov 10, 2009 2:20:44 PM

English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are about to rekindle their interest in Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for the January transfer window.

Tuttomercatoweb.com reports Spurs are ready to tempt Milan with an enticing €15 million bid for the Dutchman - the same amount Milan paid Real Madrid for him in the summer. The report suggests the north London-based club had already tried, but failed to land him during the last transfer window.

Huntelaar has been disappointing for the Rossoneri this season. He has struggled to stamp his mark on the club, failing to score thus far, which has fuelled speculation he is on his way out.

Voices have previously suggested the Italians are keen on Gareth Bale, and could use Huntelaar as bait to land the Welshman in a cash plus player deal during the winter transfer scene.

A move seems difficult though. Milan have not confirmed the reports, but Adriano Galliani did suggest the club would not be too active on the market this year.

I'm completely undecided on Huntelaar. Would he be a success in the Premiership? I have no idea.

Personally think hes a good strikers but on second thoughts pace and strength might be an issue for him in the EPL.

I think him and Pav are on par and a swap would be pointless. At least Pav has some PL experience. Too much of a gamble
