Rebrov did not flop Brights a joke, Rebrov did well in his first season then Hoddle froze him out. In my opinion Rebrov is better then Defoe and Bent, I honestly think him and Berbatov would have been a killer partnership.

He didn't really claim anything other than the one game didn't fill him with hope. It's a fair comment. He hasn't written him off or anything like that.

Personally I didn't think he had a great game. ATM, I'm not that excited about him but you can't judge players on one game (something a lot of people here ARE guilty of). Lets see him on Thursday.

The comparison of Modric to a "Flop" (Rebrov), which he was not, in my opinion, was enough to endorse my opinion of Bright.
That of someone who wants to get noticed by coming out with knee jerk reactions to someone who, as you say Camaj, didnt have a very good game, but it was only one game!
I guess i just dont like Bright, and i would have the same reaction if it was a player from another team other than a Spurs player!
Mark isnt very Bright! (Sorry bout that bit)!:)
Roll on Thursday!

That 'first' wembley goal has clearly gone to his head.

Why all this hatred torwards Bright. In reality, he's anonymous in terms of stature and opinion. He was anonymous as a player. He has managed through what ever means to secure a spot on the BBC as a co-comentator, which suggests his agent is shit hot, or his ex misses did him some favours with the executives.

He is not the only ex-footballer who is now making a living in the media by spurting absolute shite. He is up there alongside, Phil Thompson, Micky Quinn, Tony Cascarino and Paul Merson.

I honestly believe if Modric had signed for one of the top 4 then everyone would be praising him in the press, and this article would not exist. But no, DL nipped in and persuaded him to join us, a team actually attempting to break up the monopoly that is the 'big 4' how very dare we??

I'm waiting for Bright's opinion of Nasri and whether he thinks Arsenal have another Jeffers based on one performance for France

He's a tool. Very smart to base your view of a player on one half of football. Don't even get me started on the rest of the so called experts on the BBC.

I think technically Modric has looked excellent, his passing seems incisive, and he always always always wants the ball.

My only worry is that he doesnt quite have the engine to play in the Prem yet, and that will require some tuning. I am not sure how he would do in a central midfield 2, hence I can see us playing with a DM behind him and one other.

His teamwork seems exceptional, but his lack of fitness could be a worry. He seems to trot around at a gentle pace, which in a 3 in the continental football is fine, I'll be interested to see if he can kick it up a notch or two, which he will need in the prem.

If he can show this 'engine' then we have got a flipping awesome player

Rebrov was a joke. Yeah he may have been frozen out at Spurs, but that is because he wasn't good enough. Saying that Rebrov is better than Defoe and Bent just makes you sound like that you're retarded. When Rebrov went to lesser teams than Spurs, he still flopped there as well. You sell Defoe or Bent to a lesser team and they will flourish as they are proven. The only thing Rebrov proved is that he was shit.

Luka Modric, showed his class in the second half of the game against Germany. When the game opened up due to Germany chasing the game and Croatia playing on the counter attack, Modric came more into the game and his team mates where always looking to give him the ball. On his first half performance I thought he played quite disciplined as a functional holding mid allowing Kanjcar to run the show for the Croats.

Modric as a play maker is what we would like to see more of at the lane, seemed on the ball more than M Ballack (which is saying a lot) and looked similar in the way he played to Fabregas.

As mentioned above he did looked a bit one paced in motion but his speed of thought and decision making (exemplified by that tackle) was sharp and effective.

Two idiots don't = a genius.

Careful, you'll find yourself in the 'clique' Ole Gibberishy claims is ranged against him (actually, it's almost the whole of SC).

Just switch on your Insanity Filter (AKA the Ignore function).

He's looks like he has Carricks passing ability and malbranques hustle. Showed more creativity today as he was played further forward.

I was very impressed with his second half performance.

English football will obviously be a different test, but I'm quite happy with his signing. Lets hope we dont bugger it up by not having the right players with him.

You didn't watch today's game?

And when did Zokora look shit hot in the WC? When someone was watching Ghana and mistook Essien for him? (As they actually did.)

And described as
"New Tottenham signing Luka Modric, who will complete his £15.8 move from Dinamo Zagreb after the tournament, was instrumental in Croatia's victory. Modric's promptings in midfield helped Croatia turn in a display which was a huge improvement on their patchy performance against Austria in their first match."

"Luka is a star even without this tournament, I keep saying to him every day that he is the best player in Europe, but he is not the only great player on our team," Bilic said after the match in Klagenfurt.

how anyone can doubt modric after the 2 performances is beyond me, and more fool them really - shown themselves up.

Modric looks a class act on the ball, his touch and close control are great, he is clearly 2 footed, great vision and dribbling skills. Ok he hasnt single handedly dismantled a team but neither has the likes of ronaldo and ballack - probably 2 of the best footballers about at the minute.
