His first half performance was pretty average, didn't get into the game. His second half was good though. I was impressed with his ball retention skills, even against the likes of Ballack & Frings. He kept the ball well and made simple passes which is something Spurs often lack when we're up against it in the final minutes.

i was listening to the radio on the way home from work and both commentators were saying that modric will be a top quality player in the prem next year for spurs and that we have finally got a centre midfilder who can pass, tackle, score etc etc....

Ramos knows what hes doing, he know what Modric is about and he will not be 'another' Rebrov....

In Ramos we trust!

I LOVE how relaxed he is on the ball.

A calming influence we need in our midfield.

Can't wait for the next match.

for me he looks quality - a definite touch of Ardilles about him and he´s now our no.1 mid as far as I´m concerned (and doubtless most spurs fans)

Agree with everyone that he looked quality yesterday. He had a quiet 1st half which he did well defensively and made simple distribution to keep things going but the eye-catching stuff came in 2nd half when he moved further forward and start making runs and very astute passes that opened up Germany's defence on more than 1 occasion.

Definitely what we need now. Really glad we got him before Euros because at the rate he is performing, his value will have shot past 20 million by the end of the tournament.

It's still early but I have to say kudos to our management for getting such great players on board early rather than have last minute deals that happened in previous seasons. I am quite confident about the coming season now. (Although I was pretty confident the season before too:razz:)

Modric looked very good out there. I was impressed at how easily he made space and time for himself.

The comments about his "engine" might be true. He did look a bit tired and I hope he's rested in the next game. No need to risk injury or another yellow.

BBC MOTM. Do you watch football?
Yea but most of those are probably Spurs fans or players who just voted him highly as we are paying a large fee for him.

I'm being tottaly honest SO far in this tournament, he's not looked special. However it is a very high level and he has looked decent but not special. I feel in the premierleague where he will have more oppertunities to exploit the opposition with better wide men and striking options than just Olic and a fairly average Kranckjar he will look fantastic.

I'm very pleased with the signing and I did watch the game yesterday but it does annoy me all these people who just on the Modric Bandwaggon o yea he's amazing, played brillaintly etc-get real no he didn't. Playing brilliantly is what David Villa did, what C.Ronaldo and Deco did the other night, what Sneijder and others have done. Modric has done decently well and I think he will be a great signing for us. However based on these 2 games, he's looked like he's got potentiol and showed glimpses of brilliance but he's not stood out or been consistently outstanding.

I'm not basing how good he'll be purely on 2 games by anymeans, however i do feel certain people even pundits are over-rating him because of the fee we paid for him.

sorry but it's the truth.

Get the deckchairs out for next season. Modric and Berbatov will make the game look so easy its untrue. I'm starting to think i could play alongside them. Talk about walk in the park.

modric was immense today. everywhere, full of running and NEVER gave the ball away

Yes he did. He gave it away once in the 1st half. I remember thinking "damn, he's rubbish. Worst summer signing ever!"

I think people are expecting him to tear the opposition apart and put in some amazing displays. The fact is, Croatia dont play at very high pace. They are a very technically sound team, who work really hard for eachother. They pass the ball really well and their possession play is excellent. Croatia haven't set the world alight as such, not just Modric but the team, yet they play very attractive football. They dont have a lot of pace on the wings, and they dont have a great strikeforce. I just imagine Modric will come to life at Spurs due to our fast attacking play.

Theres no doubt that his best work comes further up the pitch. He was very unlucky not to score near the end, inside the 6 yard box. He has such quick feet and close control, and played a beautiful ball out wide, got into the box and missed by a fraction (could have even had a penalty.) That would have been some goal for sure (and a few extra points in my fantasy football team too:))

OK - UEFA official MoM

He did not make a single error yesterday. Really composed. Love him.

I like what I have seen so far too but that is surely an exaggeration. He made one obvious mistake yesterday when he misplace a pass while trying to bring the ball away from his penalty box and gave it straight to a German player. Thankfully it did not result in German goal.

Not trying to nitpick but all the hype building up is really dangerous. He is young, bubbly and still prone to the occasional errors, and we need to keep this in mind. Otherwise, fans will start expecting performances ala KaKa or Deco when he plays for us next season when he clearly isn't at that level yet. He can be but the other players have something he doesn't and will build up over time, experience.

There will surely be errors but Modric can be awesome for us if we give him time to produce his best.

Well atleast Modric isn't married to Hattie from Eastenders! Who cares what a poor man's Ian Wright has to say anyway?

It would appear that talent spotting rather then sweetness is Mark Bright's weakness, I so hope Modric has a great start to his Spurs career to avoid any unwanted pressure being applied to him in the press (in the way Bent and countless others have been labelled failures before they get a chance to settle in)

A nice goal and assist on his debut would put such talk to bed (maybe some sort of Klinsmann drive thrown in for good measure)

Would you have said no to Michelle Gayle in her prime?

Yes, she is and was nasty... that was my whole point (clearly you disagree, can you not just humour me for the sake of my post?)

I always thought she had a lovely pair of tits on her - cover the face and bomb the bass was my motto with regards to Mrs Nice but Bright.

I stopped humouring you after you removed that white cat avatar you used to have. You are not the same poster since:cry:

To be honest I cant even remember what she looked like before 'Reborn in the USA',

As for the poor cat, He will not be back until he can reprove his worth as a lucky Spurs charm

Michelle Gayle chucked him a few months ago. Probably why he's appearing more on our screens, the fucking loner.
