I fully expect Tom Carroll to be sold as well.Keeping Tom Carroll, Milos Veljkovic and Delle Alli !
If Cleverly goes to Everton I can imagine Tim wanting Carroll.

We need an experienced vet in the middle of the park. These youngsters are good, but they're also getting us shredded at times.Keeping Tom Carroll, Milos Veljkovic and Delle Alli !
That's it. And Dele Alli won't feature heavily in his first season regardless. We need an experienced vet in the middle of the park. These youngsters are good, but they're also getting us shredded at times.

I have a feeling we might be after one of the Bender brothers
It's hard to find experience oversees. Experience that translates to the EPL would come from playing for a top side in the CL (personal opinion, of course). We can't attract those players. That's not enough right now. We need another player with some experience and the right mentality going into the new season.
Just North of the River according to the Richardson'sDidnt they rule the London underworld in the sixties.

I'd really like to see Carroll remain at Spurs. He's the single only player of his type in midfield (dynamic playmaker) currently at the club with professional experience, and I think we become too predictable if we have nothing but players for the double pivot as midfield options.

Neither Bender will happen for different reasons. Sven will not leave Leverkusen as they are in the CL. Lars is too injury-prone. He's a liability that we cannot take a risk on.
Actual Options:
Castro (off to Dortmund)
Geis (likely off to Dortmund)
Kramer
Xhaka (assuming it's Bundesliga and not just German)
Darida (undewhelming)
Rudy
Goretzka (Schalke unlikely to sell)
I think the top choices would be (in order); 1) Xhaka 2) Kramer 3) Rudy
Agree - such a talent that could be fantastic but I just don't think it'll be us. We seem fairly set on needing two physical players in the middle and that I don't think will change whilst Pochettino is in charge.
I was totally underwhelmed by Bentaleb last and at the start of this season - but after watching him play at WHL I understand how impressive he is for his age. And he's been deployed in a far deeper, more defensive role than his youth team days. Does TC add much more than Nabil or Ryan Mason?
Yes, but the Bundesliga is actually a top league, the Eredivisie isn't.Just because Bayer L are in the CL does not mean we can't get Lars Bender. Ajax were in the CL and we took their two best players on separate occasions. Money, PL and London do have their advantages like I said. They are only in the qualifying round of the CL anyway, and are not a European elite club.

Castro would have been a great pickup for us, too. It's a shame we weren't in for him at €11m, that's a damn steal.Again...from their three cms they used the last five years Rolfes and Castro are leaving. I just can't see them selling all three. The back up midfielder Reinartz is sold as well. It is not realistic in the slightest.
