I certainly don't mean to criticize, but I'm just very surprised to see someone of such an opinion. From what I've even seen of him at Spurs in his brief appearances, and from his tapes and scouting reports he is renowned for his mobility from a holding mid position. Again, I think you'd enjoy some of those tapes from his time at Toulouse.

As I said, In my opinion, he is not mobile. I stand by it. He is very good player because, (again, In my opinion), what he loses in his mobility, he covers it by reading & positioning well.

I watched an awful lot of him at Toulouse, I wouldn't say he's not mobile, when he sees a gap he'll drive forward pretty quickly and he covers an awful lot of ground.
If you use the words not very agile then I'd be more inclined to agree. I think he does read situations well to reduce being too often exposed to this, but he is certainly not the most agile player

Asked on Friday in Ribeirao Preto on his contractual situation at Southampton, Morgan Schneiderlin has made it clear he intended to leave the Saints.
"The club knows my position, what I want to do. I had a nice discussion with the leaders, the leaders know what my intentions are."

I appreciate you posting that, and I've no doubt he'd want out especially after Deschamps' public comments about his current club situation, but I guess just by my take from that quote that it's guaranteed he's asked out.

Where did you pick up that quote from? Had a search and struggling to find a source.

EDIT: The Mirror have picked up on these quotes this evening too...

French World Cup star Morgan Schneiderlin also hinted on Friday that he could be next to leave Southampton, with the two north London sides both keen on the £20m-rated midfielder.

Schneiderlin said: "Listen, I'm aware of Southampton's situation. On a personal level the club know my position and know what I want to do. I had a good conversation with all the directors.

"I've been there for a long time now. We'll see how things go but the directors know my position and what my intentions are.

Everyone has ambitions, everyone has his own future in his hands so we'll see. Every player wants to play on big occasions."

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin refused to comment when asked if he was to follow Pochettino to Tottenham. #THFC

Schneiderlin: "I'm not saying anything!" #THFC

@HotspurRelated Was me who asked him if he could join Poch. He said 'That's a good question. I'm not saying anything.'

@gstobart Anything to read into that greg?

Greg Stobart ‏@gstobart
@DesFitzgerald07 Not particularly haha. He wants to leave and would walk to Arsenal or Spurs. Think THFC would have to sell a couple first!

Saints fans seem to have flipped to being rather resigned to losing him this summer. Again, I think Deschamps' comment was effectively the nail in his coffin at Saints, as there's no telling what he's said to him behind closed doors considering that aggressive of a line was made in public.

I have to admit, he'd fit in extremely well at Arsenal. Seeing as they could promise the CL, and I think we'd likely only really be pursuing him if one of Capoue or Sandro were to be moved on, I don't think we'd have great chances in that head-to-head even if we do have Poch. However, while I do think he's better than Arteta, I'm not sure he'd initially dislodge him for first choice playing time which Poch could promise him at Spurs.

Think Schnierleinilinilinil or however you spell it would be a brilliant buy. Plus think of Levys face with the shirt sales.

Disagree with posts saying he's not needed / we need to buy more attacking midfielders.

Defensive midfield-wise we have Sandro (who is ALWAYS injured) and Capoue.

To be honest, perhaps an unpopular opinion I'd prefer Schneiderlin over both (Sandro purely as he can't stay fit and I'm sick of having great players that just can't stay fit) although Schneiderliin AND Sandro / Capoue is an option to add some steel to the midfield.

Engine room-wise we have Paulinho, Dembele and Bentaleb (maybe another unpopular opinion by Timmeh's love child may turn out to be most suitable in role alongside a specialist holder?).

Attacking midfield-wise we have Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Paulinho as an option to push up all available to play as the central attacker of the three.

Eriksen should most probably get the nod as not sure of him as wide-left in attacking trio (as opposed to in a wide midfield in a 4-4-2 formation).

And also I'm pretty sure this was Lamela's favoured position at Roma, although my guess is we will look to deploy him wide right (although allows flexibility).

Chadli was also very effect in this role, so again if he plays with the other two they can all swap about.

Defensive midfielders are often underrated and we need a good consistent one for those tough games when we need to get stuck in.

Far too similar my friend, as all of those players are more holding mids aside from Bentaleb. Effectively taken out too much drive forward there, especially with the removal of Holtby.

He is their best player by a distance.

He's great because he can do the Sandro destroyer thing but can also pass it and create from deep like a Carrick style player.

Like some others have said I hope we do anything to get him.

Here's the thing. We already have 7 CM's. How do we get them all game time? I'd try to get a loan move again for Carroll at least, but we still have 6 CM's to get game time for. Maybe if we sell Sandro or Capoue(which i hope we dont) then i'd go in for him. Not right now though.

Him to arse would suck, to be honest. He's an amazing player.

Agreed. He is exactly what they need in the heart of their midfield. Energetic, determined, knows how to tackle and can pass well. I'm surprised Wenger hasn't tried to snap him up already.

L'Equipe say we're very interested.

IIRC they are pretty reliable.

Would love Schneiderlin. No issue for me if we were to sell Dembele, loan out Bentaleb and then go toward next season with Sandro, Capoue, Schneiderlin, Paulinho and Carroll as our midfielders. Love that blend, personally.
