Just thought people would like to read this article, a lot never thought he would do this again, it's nice to read a good news story for a change. Fair play to the lad.

Fabrice Muamba has revealed he has played football for the first time since his heart attack last season.

Muamba collapsed after suffering cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie at Tottenham in March.

His future in the game remains in doubt, but the Bolton midfielder says he has taken to the field again.

He told CNN World Sport: "I was on holiday and I was staying in a hotel and there were quite a few footballers in the hotel as well.

"The staff of the hotel usually play against the visitors so I was by the pool and I heard they were playing football. I was like 'ah really?' and I was like 'yeah' and there's me thinking maybe I should try.

"Then I went across and saw other footballers playing and I told my friends and (fiance) Shona. I told her 'I am sorry but I am going to play football'. She goes 'are you sure?' and I say 'yes' and I just went in there."

The 24-year-old admitted his fiance was "scared" as he played for around 25 minutes. However, he had no problems and was just glad to be back in action.

Muamba added: "It was just to get back into the groove and to get back into momentum.

"It was just playing like I was training. It was great, I enjoyed it.

"I just hope to God that I can get in there myself, with the 11 players on the pitch and to play would be fantastic."

Shows great courage even if it was just a friendly little kick about. I'm sure he still has that desire to play a bit of football and I wish him well.

Good news, but you can't help but thinking that unless he's been 100000% checked over and given the green light he should be a bit more careful. He is incredibly lucky to still be alive.

Brilliant news, long way to go before he ever plays for Bolton again but it's something.

Sad news, was really hoping he would play again.

Really pisses me off when people like The King and Muamba are forced to retire whille that pond life piece of scum Terry continues to play and earn millions.

It is, but as he says he is just thankful to be alive and recovered as well as he has. Im sure he can stay involved in football if he wishes.

I'm really gutted for him but it's for the best. Hope he stays involved in the game.
