Fredericks is good. I like him, alot. But we'll probably get some nice offers for him, especially from Boro if they get promoted. Also, Poch seems to be pretty happy with using Dier at RB. So, really, we have Walker, Dier, Yedlin and KWP.

KWP could certainly make a few appearances next season. Not 2 years away.

I think KWP shows tremendous potential, but he's still got a few more years of growth to undergo. For instance, it was a bit of rather brilliant managing by Chelsea's U-21 coach to put Solanke against KWP in the FA YC semifinal, as Solanke absolutely dominated KWP and removed him from the game with immense physical disparity. KWP has yet to prove he can handle guys immensely larger than him, so until then, regardless of his potential, he'll need more time to grow and to learn how to better handle dealing with guys significantly larger than him.

Honestly, I suspect Poch has used Dier there at RB just as a stopgap rather than preference. I think with Fredericks returning, Dier will be able to focus on CB. Dier is reasonably quick, but he's not got the agility to handle being a fullback in this league. I think you're probably right Boro would offer if they were promoted, but I think we'd be silly to sell Fredericks so soon while Yedlin needs to acclimate to the league more. Can certainly see us keeping Fredericks another year, loaning out Yedlin, and then selling Fredericks if we're comfortable moving forward with Yedlin as No 2 at that point. The other advantage to this is Fredericks would then be a Prem-tested player at that point, so could command a substantially larger fee.

Something working in your court though is that as of this moment, Fredericks' current contract expires 2016. So it is reasonable to argue that if we don't see Fredericks being a part of our future long term, this summer would be the point to sell, especially if he wouldn't be willing to sign an extension with Yedlin seen as the long term No 2 option.

I think Yedlin coming in essentially confirmed that Fredericks will be sold this summer. Highly doubtful that he'd sign a new deal with Walker already being preferred, Yedlin around at the same spot, and KWP up and coming. So this summer is the last chance to sell him.

Yeah, that's certainly possible, and we've even seen ITK saying Pritch and Alli look to be included next term but nothing about Fredericks.

Certainly sounds risky to me, but your argument holds merit.

KWP is a hell of a talent but you right needs to fill out, first leg he was very good and defend very well, second leg vs Chelsea I didn't see, but heard he got an education by Solanke.

Yeah, hate to hand it to them, but it was rather sharp to play Solanke on that wing against KWP. Ending up working brilliant. He just literally boxed KWP entirely out of the match. KWP is a fantastic talent as you say, and I'm absolutely convinced he'll be playing EPL ball someday, but far and away his greatest weakness and hurdle will be figuring out how to handle the big lads.

Song for Kyle Walker (with apologies to Roy Orbison)

You were all right
for awhile
I could smile
for awhile

But then I saw you that night
When you played so shite
And you ran into Hugo

I used to wish you well
But now I want to sell
And I want Cly-y-y-yne over you
Cly-y-y-yne over you

:singing:
Quality :ROFLMAO:

Even if they are, Clyne might not be interested in us.
We just need to offer him a house next to the training grounds.

"I signed for Spurs on schoolboy forms when I was 11 but I was from south London (Stockwell) and Tottenham's training ground was in north London (Chigwell)," Clyne told Southampton's official website.

"It meant having to take two or three different trains for a journey which took about an hour and a half each way. It took a big chunk out of the day and after three years I decided to go for something a bit nearer home.

"Going to Palace meant I got my chance of first team football that much quicker," he added.

"For my money they were the best team in the Championship last season and when the chance came to join them, I jumped at it."

Why do so many people say that anyone who is half decent will end up at ManU ?

They only buy no more than half a dozen decent players a year like anyone else, they can only field 11 players at a time just like anyone else.

Im probably gonna get slated for this but i think hes abit overated and is only marginally better than walker if at all.

Can see where your coming from but there are two areas where he is miles better than Walker, those being defending and attacking, apart from that they are pretty similar.

Yes please would be very happy with this.

Should we Nick Fonte too as he seems very underrated.

He's had a better season than Walker no doubt he's only about on a par with Walker ability-wise. He still makes stupid mistakes in positioning that Walker haters get so infuriated about too.

For me its just not worth spending what would be a big slice of our summer budget on a right-back when we've got Walker - unless we know that Walker's injuries have effectively scuppered him long-term.

If Fredericks is off and Yedlin needs a loan I'd rather circumvent Southampton and sign Trippier for much cheaper to provide Walker with competition and cover.

See a lot of people say give lamela a chance as he came back from a serious injury. Walker had a worse injury yet we wont give him a chance?
Yes he makes mistakes but he didn't get in the england side through pity.

To be fair, there appears to be no logical reason for choosing England players. Take Danny Rose as an example.

He is better than Walker in every aspect apart from maybe physicality. He is more intelligent, has much better technique and technical ability, has better positioning and tackling ability.

We won't ever sign him but there is no questioning he is better than Walker IMO.

He didn't win young player of the year though pity either.
Full pre-season under his belt and he will be back to his best next season I think/hope.

The cooing on here demonstrate how massively overhyped he is. He's a good player, but just like Sheamus Coleman, he's made to look better due to defensive organisation. Walker would absolutely smash it at Southampton.
