I think it is always good to add experience to the squad, we have a plethora of youngsters in the squad and we have added some good experience and so far it has worked.

Livermore, Rose, Lennon, Bale, Walker, Kaboul, Modric, Huddlestone, dos Santos, Sandro all 26 or under.

We'll have a few more back in the summer too, Caulker, Townsend, Falque and maybe one more promoted from our ranks!

I am satisfied with our balance but would love to see a younger keeper bought in the summer, someone we can see in goal for many years to come and same goes for a striker.

I think hes a great addition, but injury prone like all our other CB's.
Hes been Our Star player for many years and New zealand will miss him when he retires.
He sure to bring in HUGE amount of fans to tottenham as many in NZ support Blackburn as he plays for them. So expect alot of kiwis to jump ship as i know my mates all have blackburn Shirts with his name on them

What happens when he leaves at the end of the season? All the new NZ fans don't bother about Spurs again I guess?

i don't think he is injury prone like King or Woodgate ( considering he was here ) .. from Wiki ( past 4 full seasons + current season ) :

don't think Nelson can be compared to King injuries ..

season 07-08 : King played 4 EPL games ( 10 games with cups ) , while Nelson played 22 EPL games ( 30 games with cups )

season 08-09 : King played 24 EPL games ( 29 games with cups ) , while Nelson played 35 EPL games ( 39 games with cups )

season 09-10 : King played 20 EPL games ( 21 games with cups ) , while Nelson played 28 EPL games ( 33 games with cups )

season 10-11 : King played 6 EPL games ( 9 games with cups ) , while Nelson played 28 EPL games ( 30 games with cups )

season 11-12 : King played 11 games ( with no cups ) , while Nelson played only 1 EPL games ( with no cups )

so, difference of 53 games for Nelson, only problem if Nelson past months injury would continue or not as what's happened suddenly to Gallas ( age issue ) and may be not.

But def. Nelson if stayed fit and played well, i wouldn't mind to see release King, and Corluka, & Bassong departure ( around 120K of wage bill and £7m for transfer funds at least ) ... then sign top quality defender, and rotate Kaboul-Dawson, depends on the use of Kaboul, who could provide a good cover for the whole backline ( Walker - Dawson - New CB - Ekotte ) and even CM injuries, or even using him as defensive fullback, which we need vs very skillfull wingers if we qualfied for CL ( as i doubt Walker defending qualities at this moment ) .

since the fact Nelson did well for average team, i'm delight for him to get a rule for top 6 side, he is one good to have at the club and i'm delight to see him in Spurs shirt.

I agree. Madness. King is the most aptly named individual ever birthed.

total of 80 games within 4 and half season, the states enought, we played around that more than 200 games, so why keeping a player on large wages who we know is missing more than 60% of games ?

Because he's still one of the best defenders on the planet

Check out our win ratio with him, and then without him. You will find your question answered.

sorry, but if you and who disagreed with me, must look to what i said

that's mean three things:
1- Nelson to be King replacement ( if he proved his worth and fitness ) , as he can play more and not have a load of defenders just because half of them suffer several injuries !
2- sign top quality defender who should provide the quality in more games and long term.
3- Financial side means it's good for the club, because King is one of top paid here.

At a low cost he's not much of a gamble and given how important an able squad is for the final push, could well fill an important piece of the puzzle. Much like Bentley did for our CL push when Lennon was injured, though overall he's turned out to be a huge disappointment.

On the positive side, if we don't win the EPL or Fair Play league, we should win the Freedom Pass League this season.

King has also been told he has to play 20 games this season to get an extension. 20 games a season and he is well worth the cash. When a truly world class defender is available a move is possible, but look at Savic - he was touted as a future star and he's looked a liability for City.

King works, we have ample CB cover and Caulker coming along. I think we are looking OK. Ideally you want a settled back 4 but this is the real world. Look at Utd, City, Chelsea and Arsenal chopping and changing at the back.

Most Likely, They only support blackburn because of him, Probably dont even know any one else in the team.
However they'll most like buy a few spurs shirts which i can buy off them end of year :D.

King said in an interview that he has not been told anything regarding the number of games he has to play to get a new deal

Harry was in the papers a month or two ago about giving him a new deal and that he doesnt want him to leave and referred to Ledley as "part of the furniture" at the club.

I'm almost offended at the thought Nelsen "replacing" King - whatever caveat you put on it. Ridicuolous idea - he's 34!!

His comment on the OS doesn't help change my initial opinion of him as a defender who kicks people a lot...

"When I was at Blackburn and looking at the squads, I always thought Tottenham had an amazing squad.

"It's a bit weird, considering I've been trying to kick them for the last eight seasons, but it will be great to play alongside them!"
