I totally agree but I would also put Nene in the bracket of "only if we had a developing talent on our books too". We don't. I thought about it a bit more and N'Zogbia is an option. Did anyone watch the U20 games in Canada? Any LW talent out there?

I think we should be looking to get two LW players in this summer, we will hopefully be playing 50+ games this season.

Nene is a solid player, poor mans downing - not really, about as good as downing, which means he's not a superstar by any means, however he should only cost a few £m and so as one of the 2 LW players i reckon he would be worth getting.

LW is really our only priority now this summer.

solid is the last thing i would say about nene, if he was anywhere near as good as downing we would have made serious moves by now, fact is we would pay 10mill for downing and yet nene who is more available would only cost 4mill tops and we dont seem that interested.

Watched him play against Sevilla just before we played them in the UEFA and I have to say he was dreadful, I would rather have taken any other player on the pitch ahead of him. Just lightyears from being good enough.

His best position would be somewhere as far away from us as possible. He is neither a LW or a LM from my recollection, more a floaty midfield type with little substance.

The directors of ASM and Celta Vigo have still failed to reach agreement concerning the transfer of the Brazilian attacking midfielder, although they have got closer, according to l'Equipe's information. Another big problem for Monaco is that Nene has still not obtained Spanish nationality and ASM have already reached their quota of players from outside the EEC. If a solution does not come about by next week, the 25-year-old player could slip by towards Greece and Olympiakos.

i dont think a lw is essential per se. maybe intensve training with danny rose to use his left foot and only his left foot is the long term plan?

realy dont see us buying a lw, club should be looking at 2 16-18 yr old lw to come in and play in the youth sides at least that gives us a chance cos lw are very difficult to find.

never seen nene, i thnk theres no1 out there we can realistically sign that will do the job to what our percieved expectations are.

with someone like lennon you will always need a stronger lm with a defensive mind to help the cms.

i feel bale could do this role, possibly even benoit assou-ekotto, but currently all our 3 left backs are injured so that needs to improve first!!
