Trouble here is the US pundits are using padded stats from a shit group to say the US are no 1 at the world cup for X to make a point the future is positive. It’s nonsense. They are a grossly overrated team, main players are not world class, coach is trash. A lot of change needs to happen if the want to stand a chance in 4 years time.

Was pleasantly pleased with their close quarter skill. Also impressed with their disguise. Passing was average at best, defending too. Quite a bit to build on but still a long way to go.

i think you're being harsh. i don't think this team was very highly rated for one. the coach needs upgrading and you need to find a striker and a few serviceable centre backs, but i think there's a lot of positives about the development of the team.

Team is decent. Players are decent, and young with room for improvement.

Coach is not my favorite - and tactically wanting. But, he is probably not as bad as many, including me, think. He needs to be replaced by a more tactically astute manager.

The future is positive - because the sport continues to grow. Better players are being developed in the country. Next WC will be in the US (and a little in Mexico/Canada). The format will be a bit wonky - but, they should expect to make the Round of 16, and have a chance at the QFs. At that point, anything is possible.
