If true then it's harsh on the likes of Chimbonda and Tainio, having their squad numbers taken off them even before they've left the club.

Ties in with what Roy Keane says about footballers being treated like pieces of meat. When the club is done with you, off you go, whether you like it or not.

We can't complain about Keano and Berba wanting to move on when, on the other hand, we're dumping players en masse once we've decided we can do better.

Errrr no, not really, just like any other business really. The business (Club) comes before it's employees (players). Why are suddenly players now on par with an entire football club according to your ethos? It's that sort of thinking which has fucked up football!!!!!
