I think they will actually put the trays back under the podium once done, today i predict, and leave it open for tomorrows staff event. Imagine we'll see the trays out and grass laid about 18/19th in readiness for academy game 27th.

I don't think so because they'll have to split the pitch again for no good reason and they won't ever want to do that unless or until they have to for a n NFL game.
I think we are a bit caught up in the retractable pitch idea, the football pitch will be permanent and will never be moved is how I think we will look at it and only ever move it when we have to.

Do you think then they are going to lay the rolls of turf irrespective of the three trays and 'cut' the turf when an NFL game or concert calls for temporary storage?

I only think different because they have tested and spoke at length about seamless joins (during that Dividing Pitch video circa March time). That isn't to say the trays are going to be in 'n' out all the time.
