My dad and grandad said the team was so good they all knew they were the best. Nearly won the league the next year aswell but the "chequebook champions" Everton bought the league
It was Ipswich not Everton . We lost to them at home. If we had won it would have been 2 doubles in a row. But we were more concerned with trying to win the European Cup [which we were cheated out of]

Lots of rumours of money under the table from Benfica is what I have read, but I am far too young to know anything about it. I suspect the British footballing landscape would be rather different now had we become the first winners of the European Cup, Bill would have had his knighthood, for sure.

I would say they're telling the truth. There was ducting being ran in. There were electricians re routing supplies that went through the new ducting route. I'm there all week again so I'll try and find out a bit more about if the seats are going back in or not and when the blocks are due to be demolished for the new foundations.

I'd imagine moving all the season ticket holders out of that end means there's definately a schedule

May be waiting for the end of the 6 week waiting period from Sec of State decision to see if a Judicial Review is applied for or not for any announcement. That is round about 27 May., which is 6 weeks from the date on the Council's decision notice.

My understanding was that English Heritage were the only ones remotely likely to object and they have come out and said that they were not going to. In addition they come under the same Govt. Dept which has to decide on the objection, making it a waste of their own money if they were to object when their own Minister gave to go ahead!

Yes, that's tight Roynie, but they have to wait until after the legal process is finalised, can't really sign off contracts until that is done. Lawyers wouldn't let them for a start.

You can insure against the risk of a delay. Given that the risk is very low you can keep going with works by agreement and sign the main contracts on 27th May.

Wasn't meaning the construction works. I was referring to sponsorship, naming rights and the like in that no announcement would be made before then at earliest. Might all be ready to go, but until legal process is completed ..........

The Secretary of State and the club have both already announced that the legal side is all done and signed off though...

Edit. I'm being thick, ignore me.

To be clear from the outset, this is not ITK. But equally not me speculating/taking a punt.

The tie up with Wembley for the season away from The Lane could be announced in the next week.
