Anyone else see the Ar5ena1 emblem fly across the screen on Sky Sports 2 at 64 minutes in the match??

Aye. I was more worried about what one of the physio's in the background was doing when Newcastle made their substitution to bring Xisco on. He was doing some kind of binocular action with his hands. It'll be on Soccer AM next week, I bet.

gomes was brilliant! he collected everything that came into the box

saves us so much danger before it happens

Agreed, even with the goal they scored he cut out a really dangerous cross in front of an attacking player.

Shame Zokora didn't track Owen, but it didn't matter in the end (apart from the clean sheet bonus).

Yep, I saw it, wound me up as much as the stupid commentary.

I was done purely for those spurs fans who did what I considered and turned the sound down.

talking about stupid commentary, the guy who I was listening kept saying "Lesley King" everytime he touched the ball

I'm just glad we played 4-3-3 and I hope Ramos sticks to this. Just with Bale or Gilbertoat left back and not Bae. This is the way forward for us. Our passing and movement will get better once the midfield gets used to playing like this. We'll be much better once we have 2 good attacking full backs like Bale and Hutton. Finally I'm starting too see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I'd start Bent up top against Pompey though.

We made a mountain out of a mole hill of that for last few minutes after looking in complete control! Why we cant do anything simply is beyond me! Wasn't good performance at all in first half but thought things got bit better in the 2nd half, but the performances will come with confidence. A wins a win and hopefully that will help confidence! Also one other plus point with the run of fixtures we have at moment least we avoided extra time! Now the Portsmouth game is a massive match to follow on from that win!

that pissed me off because it was typical Zokora. Rarely gets in to the box with determination. It was a quick attack from Newcastle and our most important and physically best DM was joggling outside the penalty box

Every day was a wonderland when Jol was here. I was positive then. I am just telling it how it is.

I thought when CD's and mp3's came out the days of hearing a cracked record were over.

You may have been positive every day when Jol was here, the last six weeks of his reign were like pulling teeth.

It's history. Let it go. Live for the here and now. Be like brad pitt, don't dwell on having shagged jennifer aniston, focus on banging angelina jolie.

The best thing we did in the 2nd half was to keep it simple. In fact, it was too simple for my liking

We won. When was the last time you coukd say that against Newcastle, especially in Newcastle.

We didn't have to be at our best against them. Save it up for when we play a decent team.

You're like the black bit of a duracell battery - always negative.

Come join the copper coloured tops and be a bit positive.

Lol....hadn't heard that before.

At least we got the job done. Most important thing. I may take a look at the newcastle forums to further cheer up

Good win tonight, good defensive performance which was helped by Gomes who just comes out and takes everything. Very unlucky to have conceded late on.

Ohara's performance was very good, didn't do anything spectacular but he was tenacious and was very happy to get dirty. Exactly the type of player we have been missing recently. I hope he can do this on a consistent basis.

COYS

Agree with you on Gomes he was great again. I wish we had more players with his attitude too, always looking to get on with it, and get get the attack started quickly.

Tonight's co-commentator is apparently dating Nicky Butt.
they had me wondering why we didn't try to sign him in the summer!

fucking commie-tators:-|

+ lol @ jenas' impressions of a geriatric old man gingerly approaching the penalty box.
what is wrong with the guy? tonight he was fluffing his bread and butter and actually putting good tackles in, the weirdo.:)
