There can only be zero expectation with this match. Like the 90s/early 2000s going into a game expecting a pasting, and hoping to somehow not lose by much/scrape a jammy draw.

This is where we are as a club, and the powers that be should be embarrassed.

We are going to concede at least two no matter what formation we play so may as well try outscore them.

This is the first game where I will consciously arrange something with wife and kids so that I don't watch it.

Because of streams and a very understanding wife I would watch every game each season maybe missing max 1 a year but I just couldn't be bothered given the mess we're in. I will have alerts set up on phone / watch and that'll be it. I just don't want to put myself in bad form watching it so likely for remaining games I will organise something so I can skip them. Some will call me a shit fan cos of that and I could see why but watching spurs at minute is not good for my head and mood so fuck it I'll skip it.

Can't see anything from this game. Countless mis-passes, lack of quality in the midfield and Trippier, Almiron and even Joelinton causing us nothing but grief. I may watch the game or highlights only because their crowd are gonna be well up for this I just can't see this being pretty at all

I’ll be running the london marathon at the time and will deliberately twist both my ankles and limp the 26.2 miles in order to guarantee missing the whole game as it will be less painful.

How can you sponsor me you say? Link is below.

Newcastle lost their last game.

Insert shit Dr Tottenham joke.

You never know we might win.

We lose.

Everyone either loses their shit or the apathy continues.

End thread.

There's nothing to lose with going with a back 4. Skipp can drop into the gaps when they open up(because they definitely will)

Lloris
Porro Romero dier perisic
Skipp
Sarr Deki
Danjuma Kane Son

A football club with the intention of winning the league within 5 years v a entertainment club with the intention of building a go kart track

If Lenglet is injured and we still want to play with a 3 at the back there isn't much choice other than to play Sanchez again. Which makes the actions of some fans yesterday all the more bewildering. I'm not sure switching to a back 4 against a good team like Newcastle when we haven't played that way for a few seasons is the way to go. Though I suppose you could say what have we got to lose. I'd like to see us go to a 4231 of:

Lloris
Porro Romero Dier Perisic
Skipp Hojbjerg
Danjuma Kulusevski Son
Kane
Though I don't like the look of those fullbacks and it wouldn't take much for the fans to turn on Porro judging by yesterday's reaction. So playing him in a 4 may be hanging him out to dry. But hopefully playing a defensive 2 man midfield in front of him will offer a bit of protection.
This is exactly what I would play. Make sure Kulu forms a 3 in cm on defence. plays the Ode role.

Just go for it, we have nothing to lose now.

Even if we win, it will just get our hopes up of a top 4 finish only to be shattered even harder when we inevitably balls it up.

Lose = shit
Win = shit
Spurs = shit

I'm tired, Robbie.

I know it feels like we can't get much worse than recent games but with this back four I think it could get much worse. I'd swap Lenglet, PEH and Deki for Tanganga, Sarr and Danjuma.
