What hurts more than this result is that I (and countless others) genuinely don’t give a shit anymore. The last 4 years has drained all of my passion for this club. When we’d had these results in the past there was always a strong emotional response but today I have nothing, just a feeling of acceptance and inevitability. I have so little left for the club, its leadership and most of the players on the pitch, I’m pretty much done.

Yep I felt nothing today, expected to be hit by at least 5 anyway so it just felt inevitable, unfortunately i think the next couple of results will be on a par with this one. Club is just going through the motions (disgracefully so) until the end of the season. I dread to think what the atmosphere in the ground will be like if we ship an early goal or two on Thursday.

Things go bad and people don't give a shit?

I give a shit. Massively.

Am I indifferent, yes. I am not believing that European qualification will push this club on.

Strangely, I think not being in Europe may just push the owners into investing more. Its a sad state.

Why are a lot of you taking the piss out of Danny Rose? Cos he’s wearing a hat, and a nice jacket??? I bet he looked better dressed than 99% of the people in that ground. Grow up, ffs. I’m actually ashamed of this club right now.
You got the same jacket mate?? 🫣

140 pages and counting would say different on the not giving a shit front.

Makes me laugh people saying stuff like you asked for 433 look what happens... It's not enough to just rock up and play any formation, it needs to be coached with a plan.

None of those players knew where they should be or what to do. Gaps everywhere, pressing alone, no passing patterns or movement.

That's not to excuse the players. I want 90% moved on but it takes two to tango.

Yes he is. We need a project manager. Not another mourinho or Conte, we need someone who wants to make Tottenham Hotspur in his image. Nagalsmann is the man to do that. He won’t go for superstars he will look for players that fits his philosophy and style, look at Leipzig. None of them were world beaters until he made them that way.
Well I really hope he is that man because that’s exactly what we need

Interested about this, never watch before or after pundits, usually a load of shite, but did catch what Rose was wearing, looked a bit of a bellend IMO. But to be fair all the comments I saw on here wasn't as much to do with what he was wearing, but more of his persona and how he talked? Would be interested to hear about what the actual concerns were from people watching?

All this talk about how much better than us Newcastle were yet we drew the last 70 minutes. Think about it, perhaps if we'd gone with that formation from the start it might have been a different story.

Or maybe it was because the game was done at that point and Newcastle conserved their energy for their game at Everton on Thursday.

As much as this hurts etc - this is what is needed to hopefully properly sort the club out.
I doubt it. I’ve been up there when we lost 7-1, when we lost 6-0 at Bolton in the League Cup, when we got humiliated by Notts County. The list goes on. You’ve seen some of the pathetic performances we’ve put in against 3rd rate teams in the Europa League in recent years? Nothing changes. This goes way back before ENIC. Mediocrity and collapsing like a deck of cards when pressure’s applied is, sad to say, the Tottenham way. It’s part of our culture and it infects, quite quickly, new recruits.

Exactly. Everyone who wanted 433 pretty much always pointed put you couldn't do it with porro or perisic.

It's also more than that. You don't get cut through that easily without systematic problems as well as player who clearly didn't know what they were meant to be doing or were completely unmotivated.

Do you really think if we'd have got Poch in this week and he'd gone back to 433 it would have been the same score?

It’s going to be so embarrassing for Man U and Liverpool fans if they don’t beat us in the games coming up. We are absolutely there for the taking.

I'm firmly in the "don't give a shit" category. I'll always follow my team to some degree but I've missed so many games lately. I mean, at 4-0 down I started doing the washing up.

I also read a good few pages back someone saying we were worse in the 90s. You can't really compare IMO.

I went to nearly every home game as a kid throughout the 90s and the club was just a totally different proposition. I don't think we the fans or the club itself felt the weight of expectation back then. We were great one week and abysmal the next and we never expected more than that really. Call it rose tints but I have such great feelings thinking back to match days in those days.

This feels different. We have this stadium, but tbh apart from big games it always feels so flat compared to how I remember WHL. We have a world class training ground. We have a retractable pitch and I'm sure there's a gold toilet in the board room. Who gives a shit? We have no pride anymore.

I know this is part of modern football in general but we've been sold a fucking dream. We're neither one thing or another. We're pretenders with a board that only cares about its portfolio, and giving the fans platitudes and short-termism.

Football is a business now. We all know that. But you cannot run it solely as a business. There are thousands of people for who this club is in their DNA. It's a part of them. If you shit all over that, you cannot expect to succeed.

Unfortunately you're spot on and I couldn't agree more.

The thing really simply is there is a lack of hope now.

The same mistakes have been made over and over and over and over again so why should anything change.

Sorry but Levy has to go and/or completely step aside from the whole football side of the club AND put actual competent people in charge of it.

Who knows if Munn is just yet another terrible Levy hire on the football side or not.

Lets hope not but we have to hope and pray Munn gets our club and our football philosophy and that even though he has little to no PL or European football experience that he can help hire a good set of people to implement a successful football strategy.

Our next Managerial hire is so so key it HAS to be a positive character who will coach attacking attractive football but if its SLOT or NAGLESMAN etc then we also HAVE to give them full backing on the type of players they want to keep and want to bring it and we have to give them time.

Conte and Jose and Nuno were not the right fit of managers for us but its left us in such a huge mess now with the squad having such a random mix of players that it will be very hard for ANY manager coming in to make much sense of it.

Shocking game and just glad we didn't become the first team to concede 10 in the PL as at 5-0 after 20 mins I was fearing the worst.

Such a good and spot on post.

We might not have been as good in the 90's but the club didn't feel almost soulless like it does right now.

Watched the show on Sky of all Sonny’s PL goals today, hard to believe that 6-1 battering of United at Old Trafford was only two years ago.

However I think we can draw some optimism from that.

Things looked very bleak for United then.

Now, with many of the same players, they look fantastic. Not perfect - they have their slip ups - but the direction of travel is clear. And every United fan has faith that they’re going to get better and better under ETH.

We’re now on the receiving end of the 6-1 battering, and as bleak as things look, bringing in the right manager can turn things around, IF they are allowed to rebuild the squad in their image.

That’s the big “if”.

For all United fans’ moaning about the Glazers, they do spend the money. Not always well, but they spend it.

Losing their star player in Ronaldo only spurred them on further. That’s not to draw comparisons with Kane - Harry is the model professional and Ronaldo is a gigantic bell pipe. But, what they’re showing is that even if your star man leaves, you can kick on.

IF you have the right manager in place, AND an owner willing to spend the money and put their trust in them.

Once again, this all falls down to Levy.

Who will no doubt find a way to fuck it up.

I care because I can't not. I just want some good times again; aside from the blip of Spring 2022 where we started playing well, it's felt like being kicked in the face ever since Sissoko's arm was struck by Mane. There's been about fifteen lowpoints since then and remarkably few highs; dozens and dozens of post-match autopsies with my Dad about how bad we are and maybe three commenting how well we played.

I don't support Spurs expecting success. I just want a club I can relate to again. No part of it - from the playstyle to the managers to how the fans treat the team - is what I want Spurs to be. No part of it is what the best Spurs teams have been. I dunno. Maybe because it feels a lot like 2014 and what came from that was the best team I've seen. Maybe it's from ashes that we can build. Maybe there's liberation from being at rock bottom. Maybe being so pathetic that you're not bullied but pitied is quite freeing. Maybe it being so clear we can't put a sticking plaster over the cracks now will lead us to being better. Maybe.
