Disgusting...

According to La Repubblica, 14 people were interrogated in connection with the incident by the police, who have now made two arrests. Both men are known Roma ultras.
Francesco Ianari and Mauro Pinnelli fled the scene on a bus and after boasting of the attack, the driver took a picture of one of the assailants then contacted the police.

Good on the bus driver!
See not Italians are right wing nutters like some have claimed

Has anyone named the guy in the picture? With social media he would have been named straight away, that's why I am sceptical about this.

I'm sure UEFA wil throw the book at Lazio. £1000 fine and no half time sweets for 2 matches! Pathetic!

It wont be italy anyway.

Lazio was always going to be trouble. I went to the San Siro twice in our CL season without any trouble at all.

Went to almost all our away games in the CL, missed Twente, and the best atmosphere was in Berne, unbelievable noise.

Don't let the thugs put you off.

How could someone do that to another person. Really beggars belief.

Hope they pull through

Good stuff, hope we can get a decent draw if we get through the group stage.

used to go on european tours in the 70's and 80's but never saw much like this except for a couple of bad instances but it was more bottles, clubs and fisticuffs - this is so much more sinister..

There's also reports from fans at the game saying the Italian police were hitting them with batons. Stay classy, Italy!

Its sad what has happened. But... who in their right mind would go and watch Lazio play Spurs in Rome given the nature of the teams fan bases? Things like this happen so often now it amazes me people will still travel to eastern europe and Italy/Turkey etc...

I was at the game, two spurs fans started fighting amongst themselves and the old bill coshed them and nicked them I think. There was no indiscriminate baton charges or anything in the ground.

Cool, that's good to hear. Well, not that our fans had a punch-up but...you know. How was your Rome experience?!

People shouldn't tarnish all Italians with the same brush.

I went to the AC game away and we all mixed with the locals very well in cathedral square, they even put gazebo's up for us cos it was pissing it down.

We were loud and proud and I didn't see any trouble at all.
