Why ? - having differing views is usually pretty healthy - once a manager has outlined the positions required there has to be differing opinions when looking at players as long as there is an overall consensus - whether they have the same overall analogy is neither here or there really - that's surely the point of having a dof they are not alligned to a manager and provide a degree of continuity in the event of things going tits up
You asked if they needed to be in line - not whether they had to agree on every player.

Manager says I need player with x, y, z attributes. DOF better not come up with a player with a, b, c attributes.

They need to be working from the same page.

Conte started making it clear he wasnt staying beyond the season in NOVEMBER. and yet here we are 6 months on, still unable to find someone dumb enough to be a patsy for levy
he really never though did he - most people on here were still falling over Conte and wanting him to sign a new contract until shortly before he rightly got the sack he never mentioned leaving the club at all

God bored as I’ve already watched Succession. Floated around the Celtic Reddit and forums about Ange. Some seem resigned to him going and feel like his recent interviews have been a bit subdued

you know exactly how it’ll pan out. We’ll end up with our 5th/6th choice and they’ll be gone by Christmas.

If you’re not going to push Daniel Levy down the stairs or invent a device that gets a business to sack a guy who owns 25% of it, can we take it as read that we’re displeased at how things are going? I can’t be the only one who finds the misery circlejerking in every thread quite tedious.

Personally, what I enjoyed yesterday was the reception Lucas got from the players. It suggested a collective spirit that even Porro, who’s only been here a few tumultuous months, felt connected in. Which showed to me that maybe, under someone who’s not calling them all useless twats every week, we might have a dressing room that will fight for each other. A manager that can utilise that and (I don’t think unrelated) play football that emphasises creativity and I think we could be in business.

yes there needs to be consensus as in all things - but the original question was whether they need the same football beliefs I don't think they do at all - I think your example would just be the DOF failing at his job very well you would expect the attribute conversation would be ongoing until you find the best match

but overall you would hope that all at the club are working towards the same goals

I don’t think we were ever interested in L.Enrique mate, if so we could’ve got that done a while back. As for Potter many agree he’d not be a good look after flopping at Chelsea, we don’t want yet another ex-Chelsea and he’s not the right character to uplift the club.

From a combination of ITK and credible news sources it seems like our targets are something like:
1. Slot ❌
2. Amorim (likely not going to pay his buyout clause) 👎
3. Ange Postecoglou (might come
into contention once Celtics season is over) 🤷‍♂️

It seems we also tried for Naglesmann but aren’t able to make that work and think there is/was also one other mystery name in contention which the club are keeping quiet.

So I get the frustration in both the time the process is taking us as well as it looking like opportunities are passing us by left right and centre but really the two Managers you’ve just referenced as a stick to beat us with aren’t by all accounts particularly top targets of ours so aren’t relevant to our situation.

I know the search isn’t going now we’d like from the outside and I find Levy as frustrating as the next person but I doubt it was Slot and absolutely no plan B,C,D etc, Trix, WLB, Herc, Hotspur88, other ITK we’ve been given and credible journalists have all said we’ve been speaking to multiple candidates so let’s see who we end up with before continually losing our shit whilst other teams talk to managers we aren’t interested in.
just going by previous experience thats all mate

Im not overly fussed anymore. Whether it is now or in a months time, I'm resigned to the fact that it is going to be underwhelming either way.

I just hope whoever it is somehow performs a miracle and we unexpectedly get a Poch 2.0.
