It will definitely be more than that.
I don’t see how, given that last year we had a £150m injection and only spent £100m of it.

I’d be more surprised if we spent over £50m net than if we had a 0 net spend this summer. We’ll definitely need to sell to buy because of the number of players we have.

I can't be bothered to type it out again but I did an in depth post on Amorim's style. Another poster based in Portugal also did an even more in depth post. We both watch a LOT of Portuguese football and said the same thing i.e. that Amorim is not a defensive coach nor do his teams play like Conte.

Everyone of course is entitled to their opinion, but I'd caution basing it off raw possession stats and/or watching a few matches.
Each to their own mate but those articles didn’t show much tbh and anyone can write “Sportings exciting brand of football”, that is very subjective.

As I said for me his style of play is about 6/10 and it looks better than it should because sporting have a lot of good technical tricky quick dribbler and quick passer type players.

For example, swap out PEH and Kulu from our team for Goncalvez and Mar us Edwards and we’d have looked a bit more exciting this season.

Whereas imo, Naglesman, Slot, Kompany etc put an entire stylish system in place regardless of the players available.

I’ve stayed off here for a while , just because I try and avoid the internet when we are bad. Just in the train on the way home after todays match. I want Xabi Alonso as manager, what’s the chances and what’s the opinions ? It feels right to me where as the rest haven’t. I know whoever we get is a risk. Until the club structure changes I can’t see much success.

I really read that as compensation not particularly a stumbling block to securing Nagelsmann and it's down - as already stated multiple times - to having the hierarchy outlining their vision for the club and installing a sporting director to help facilitate that.

Matt Law, whilst obviously well connected, will inevitably have a pessimistic/glass half full stance on Spurs.

Maybe. But wouldn’t be surprised to see the continued trend of loan with obligation to buy in the following season.

We've had a net spend of over £330m on transfers since the 18/19 season. It will be more than £50m this summer.

Now that the stadium is up and running and with all the extra events we're hosting I'd say we'll comfortably have in the region of £80-100m before sales.

I doubt we'll be able to sell many of our fringe players anyway - it will be more loans I suspect.

Really don't want Amorim or Alonso. Style to similar to the past 18 months.
For me it balls out for Julian.
Then Slot, De Zerbi and Ange.
If we can't get one of them give it to Ryan. We are stuffed anyway!
Interested to know why you have Slot above De Zerbi?

Add Kompany to that but otherwise completely agree mate
Watching Palace today and from what I've heard of Slot, Postecoglu and Kompany they would smash it there

I'm all in on Julien and if not him De Zerbi. If neither of them I'm writing a strongly worded letter to Daniel and Donna and will inform them I will refuse to watch the first five minutes of the stream in protest for the first game of the season.

I thought he was on the list Ali Gold I think said ? That's why I mentioned him.

Had to step away but it was amazing to watch ( I don't get much chance with a toddler).

Find it crazy how £10m seems a hefty fee to have to pay for a manager, when you consider £10m would probably not even get a good championship player nowadays.

Think of how much a manager can change the whole club, it seems a small price to pay imo.

This true, and coaches are probably the most undervalued commodity in the football market alongside goalkeepers. At the same time, you can pay £10m and there’s a chance you could end up sacking them after 10 games if the team gets off to a disastrous start.

Mirror saying Alonso is front runner but needs a successful interview first?! Eh surely the front runner would only be known after the interviews. I'm calling bullshit on it.

Nothing groundbreaking in that article and essentially just suggesting he’s being considered by the board amongst Slot and Nagelsmann.

As an aside, I did see the Telegraph/Sam Wallace piece stating Liverpool were appointing Jörg Schmadtke as their new sporting director.

Know very little of him but perhaps surprising then considering the affiliations with Klopp they didn’t approach Spors.

Really hoping for some concrete news on that front soon.

Think they're just going for clicks. Tomorrow it'll be a different name.
