Competition if Alonso is on the shortlist.

What utter bollocks that is (not you)

Thes sports aggregators really do just spout off any old shite in the hope they get clicks. Real Madrid the biggest club in world football who could have any player or manager they target and they are going to get Alonso who has barely improved Leverkusen from their last season finish to take over from the legend that is Ancelloti

I've come around to giving it to Ryan Mason on the proviso he can get us into Europe AND his best mate Harry Kane is willing to sign a new deal.

We've tried these managers who think they are doing us a favour and then play mind numbingly dull football trying to sneak a result.

Get a top Director of Football in and let Ryan coach/manage the team. Just like Arthur Rowe and Bill Nicholson, Mason is Tottenham through and through. He's got the necessary football licences, he knows the club, senior players, young prospects and the supporters yearning for success through and through.

People will say he's not got the experience but he's played for the club and coached at various levels.

He's the project manager we need.
Mmmnm, it won't be the worst decision Levy has made. Would Mason get the support from the board! THFC present... Dykes & Mason.... It sounds like Levy expanding.... A gentleman's club with a handshake..... Gets my vote

Being fully aware that you can't keep everyone happy, i've had moans about spam and off topicness again.

If you want to discuss DoF's then please get your arses into the painful rebuild thread, any 'rebuild' is going to start with that or at least it's a massive part of it, so there's that.

If you want to discuss our next manager, crack on, although I can't imagine there's anything left to be said on that right now :D

There is a lot to like with this post and some really reasonable points, the amount of disagrees seems a little harsh or as if people haven’t read the whole context of what Kursaal has said.

For me I’d rather Naglesman or Slot but if neither of them then if as Kursaal says Mason gets us Europa League and it would mean Kane would sign a new deal then tbh he does tick a ton of boxes 📦 and I’d not be against it, it would be a brave but almost less risky move than certain other managers on the list who don’t know the PL, our club or this group of players.

That all being said a completely fresh start and new outside voice is probably the best way to go in our case regardless of it Mason is ready for it or not.

𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐔𝐑 • #Feyenoord makes an ultimate attempt to keep Arne Slot longer!

I suppose its not much of a surprise that Feyenoord were going to do everything they could to get him to renew his contract, but whether he will or not is the only question.

I think identifying the right manager is a very tricky job for anyone, especially football fans who are on the outside.

I remember when we hired Nuno there were a lot of people who really wanted Gerrard. He'd done a good job for Rangers and his attitude as a player made some think he had a big future. If we hired him now, pretty much every Spurs fan would be appalled.

My gut feeling is that Mason is not the right manager for us right now. He needs to prove it to earn the job. But the club should be seeing how he deals with everything on a daily basis so who knows, he could be the right man. Could be our Pep and Skipp and Winks become our Xavi and Iniesta. Unlikely though I guess.

I wouldn’t be overly surprised if he decided to give it one more year. His release clause doesn’t come into play until next summer and he’s still young. I’m sure even if he renewed it would still have the clause intact. Taking Feyenoord to the CL might be quite and exciting prospect. Interesting to see how it plays out.

You'd think those complaining would use the 'off topic' button.

If the PL come knocking he'll move imo. You don't say no.

He finishes 4th next season that PL move may never come.

Very interesting that a couple of our perceived managerial targets seem to be settling contract situations in the last couple of days.

Alongside heavy DOF rumours.

Could it mean we have finally settled on someone and pushing through the final details?

Optimistic rating sorely missed here 🤣

Why do I have a horrible feeling we are going to get a repeat of the Nuno appointment?

There will be shit load of rumours about who we are speaking to and then a week before the season starts we will end up with someone completely out of left field and totally unsuited to our club.
