Good Evening All

Reading various threads, seeing protests and the general feeling about the current owners gives me the indication we need to discuss looking at who we want our next owners to be. I get the feeling the message these days is, "Thank you levy for a nice stadium, please now #### ###". I don't agree with this. Anyway, i have looked at the forbes list for the richest people around the world that could afford us and may show more intent on winning trophies and not just finishing top 4.

Sauce: Forbes List

#1 | Jeff Bezos
NET WORTH: $177 BILLION
SOURCE OF WEALTH: AMAZON
RESIDENCE: SEATTLE

Spursfan1991 comment: We may have a documentary to watch every season on what goes on behind the scenes. I will particularly look forward to Hitchen telling us how he hates his job every year and then wonder why we have such average players playing for us.

#2 | Elon Musk
NET WORTH: $151 BILLION
SOURCE OF WEALTH: TESLA, SPACEX
RESIDENCE: AUSTIN, TEXAS

Spursfan1991 comment: Our stadium looks like its from out of space so i think he will fit right in.

#3 | Bernard Arnault
NET WORTH: $150 BILLION
SOURCE OF WEALTH: LUXURY GOODS
RESIDENCE: PARIS

Spursfan1991 comment: No idea who this person is and cannot be bothered to do research. It says luxury goods and i shop at Tesco's and Next which may explain why i don't know him.

#4 | Bill Gates
NET WORTH: $124 BILLION
SOURCE OF WEALTH: MICROSOFT
RESIDENCE: MEDINA, WASHINGTON

Spursfan1991 comment: Really good at predicting the future, he warned us about the pandemic, maybe he can warn us when we have to endure miserable football that Jose served up last 18 months so we can do something better instead.

#5 | Mark Zuckerberg
NET WORTH: $97 BILLION
SOURCE OF WEALTH: FACEBOOK
RESIDENCE: PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA

Spursfan1991 comment: Owner of a social media site mainly used by old people. He may sell your data to your rivals which might not be a problem in the case of football.

#Made this one up | Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS)
NET WORTH: lots
SOURCE OF WEALTH: Oil
RESIDENCE: Saudi Arabia

Spursfan1991 comment: Terrific beard, lovely headwear, heard he is great to have a cup of tea with. He may take out our opponents before we play them which will increase our chances of winning trophies.

These are all businessmen. So they probably would run Spurs as a business.

Not to mention, I'd doubt any of them have much interest in football.

Pointless. They aint selling unless they get £2bn which knowone will do. They own the club and as fans that's tough shit for us

Unlike the next manager thread, which inevitably became reality, this doesn't seem like something which has much chance of becoming a reality.

Maybe not right now. But, and there's no nice way to say this, Joe Lewis is 84. He could clock out at any moment (or of course go on another 15 years!) And when he does, my understanding was that his children don't have any particular interest in keeping us.

I guess so. Ok, I guess that the likelihood is that when it does happen it'll be either a consortium or a large investment group.

Also, the problem we have is that a lot of investors will be attracted to cheaper clubs like the Saudis/Reuben brothers with Newcastle as it represents better value for money. Two billion+ is a massive up front outlay for a club before you've even thought of investing in the playing squad There was talk that a 50% offer was made last year although there has been no ITK on here to corroborate that.

I don't mind Bezos. But the rest would be terrible owners esp Musk. He has zero interest in sports. Bezos probably not that into sports either but he's competitive as hell.

Gates in middle of a divorce and he's too obsessed with science right now (vaccines, etc) which is a good thing.

Arnault is 72 - basically like Lewis only slightly younger.

Zuckerberg would spend all of his time trying to get SC transitioned to FB.

God, it's a tricky one. One of the biggest contributors to late capitalism in Bezos but he has a load of capital raised from it so he can splash on the team so it is really swings and roundabouts  Expect the staff at the stadium to be pissing in bottles every match day, though.

His daughter is a massive supporter IIRC. And likely to inherit the club when Joe passes.

There really should be a Goat ? option in this poll.

In any case I’ll go for the guy from France no one’s ever heard of. That’s what we normally do so why break with tradition ?

So wrong. London is the pull. These foreign billionaires want to be in London. It’s why big houses in London sell for 50x the big houses in Newcastle. Money is no object.

The poll has been amended, more options have been added to reflect the positive vibe in the Spurs community and because the wonderful season is coming to an end, you can now vote twice.
