And how many Livorno games have you actually watched this season, or last, Bubble?

Here we go again. Your like a stuck record. How many times has anyone seen a player in enough games before the club sign him? I have seen enough of him and certainly more then enough of Robinson to warrent me thinking he would improve our side. Name me 1 player you have seen in just a handful of full matches prior to spurs signing him? The answer I bet is not very many. How many full matches have you seen Darren Bent play for example who played in England never mind Italy. Chalton couldn't have been televised more then 6 times last season. I'm sure Bent didn't play in all of them and i'm sure you never sat down and religiously watch all of them.

We all base potential signings on the limited games we have seen, whether it be live or highlights. We also base opinions on commentators and pundits whose job it is to know about a players ability and history

If your a spurs season ticket holder or you watch extended highlights on prem plus or a live stream on saturday or sunday it is impossible to watch other teams and players in action especially if their matches are not televised.

I may not have watched enough Livorno matches but I do recognise talent and potential.

I take it you have watch several PSG games of Rothen to quote "he hasnt been class for PSG this season" or where you just looking at your stat book again?

It is Neuer and not Neur.
Rene Adler is seen an even better prospect than Neuer...without that necessarily helping Spurs.
Igor Akinfeev (CSKA) - born 1986 - was the next "big thing" when he broke into the Russian national side in 2004....but no progessed as expected. But still young.
Vladimir Gabulov (FC Amkar), Russia's 1st choice.
Diego Lopez (Villareal) has come leaps and bounds this season.
Oscar Ustari (Getafe)
Guillermo Ochoa (America)

Not to mention that like 60% of you have never even heard of Berbatov 2 years ago.
Anything is an improvement over Robbo, even Cerny.

I want Marco Amelia also, when I was in Rome my cousin was suggesting to me that he is a wonderful keeper and would be worth up to 15 points a season to whoever signs him (a top club he meant).

I havent actually seen him myself, but I am trusting my cousins valuation as a Lazio season ticket holder and general seria A fanatic.

Man City have been linked with him already I believe

Marco Amelia would be Italys number 1 keeper, and get more worldwide recognition if he wasn't a) Being kept out by argueably the best keeper in the World Buffon, and b) Playing for a better club than Livorno.

He is an amazing keeper, brilliant shot stopper, and good in the air.
As an Italian I watch a lot of Serie A, and would love it if he came to the Lane.

Robinson will do for me.

Unless we can pursuade Cech or Buffon to join, as they are the ones that would really improve us to what most Spurs fans expect.

I think this talk of us becoming the team to break the big four is a little optomistic, Everton are more likely to be the team to do that, seeing as they are the only team in recent times to break into the top 4, and have a good chance of doing so again this year.

Are you saying that because of that goal he scored...?

Good to hear from someone who's actually watched him. I really ought to give up on Ligue 1 and start recording Football Italia instead.

We were also vaguely linked with Handanovic. How does he compare?

Italian football is still very good to watch, and still has quality players within it. I find it crazy to believe and hear, that media and pundits alike dismiss it so swiftly these days and label it as a declining league.

Handanovic has come on the scene for Udinese this season with a bang, after spells on loan in the last few seasons.

He is young and very tall (6ft plus). He commands his area well, and is a good shot stopper. He is also no slouch, being tall, he does well getting down to shots.

He has been one of Udinese's key players this season, getting them into a good position to challenge for a Uefa Cup spot.

His price would have been increased due to his performances, his age, and his recent contract extention with Udinese.

Out of the 2 though, I'd definately pick Amelia over Handanovic.

Keep rehashing this.

Neuer had one great game that most people saw. And he is Schalke to the bone.....it would be like one of us playing for Spurs.

While he is definitely going to be great, he's still 2 years away from being the finished article. He has made gaffs this year that Robbo would shake his head at.

Rene Adler is one year older and is not only going to be great, he already is. There is not amount of cash I wouldn't throw at him. Could be Buffon good in two to three years. But right now, would be one of the 2-3 best keepers in the EPL.

That keeper for PSV was top class i thought, think his name was gomes. we would still be in the uefa cup only for his saves.

Adler definitely looks the real deal. And guess who he wants to play for…

Wiese I've been rather less impressed with, although he's still pretty good. His horror show against Rangers would put some off, although that would be the same as deciding Neuer is a genius on one perfomance.

And if people are going on one performance, how about Nikolov's against Bayern?

There are certainly some very useful keepers in the Bundesliga, but what I'd like to know is how the Yanks manage to turn out so many good ones.

And PSV might well have been out of it if he hadn't got away with his flaps and fumbles.

Amelia over Handanovic all day long. Handanovic is dodgy. It scares me every time they play a pass back to him. Almost every time he slices it or scuffs it. There was one against Inter a few weeks back that he managed to fluff straight to Ibra who fortunately for Handanovic managed to fluff it wide. His general keeping is decent but nothing spectactular, not particularly secure or commanding of his area. I'd stay well clear and I am hoping Udi get a new keeper too.

Having said all that I am far from overwhelmed by Amelia too. Good keeper but not great.

People tend to say its because we have so many sports that focus on hand-eye and body coordination; ie baseball, gridiron, basketball. A bit simplistic, but I think the argument has a lot of merit, because I played Australian Rules football and Americans adapted quite quickly to that sport from American football (except for the need of lung power)

does it really matter who we sign? as soon as he flaps at the cross, or someone scores a long ranger against him this place will crucify him
