Andrei Kanchelskis standing on a ball and pretending to look out to sea is taking the piss not what Neymar did. Jay jay okacha tried a rainbow flick against arsenal and no one battered an eye lid.

So basically no individual bit of skill should be allowed ever again. Not a stepover, a cruyff turn, a lane-change, a nutmeg, a rabona, knocking the ball past a player and going the long way round him... All can humiliate the defender right? Bunch of cry babies.

have they said it was the flick that caused the problem, or did they think he went down too easy?

Bunch of sore losers anyway, dont think there was anything wrong with what was in that clip. Did something happen earlier in the game with Naymar or just this 1 indecent?

it is taking the piss a bit so i can understand the reaction. similar to how mourinho shakes hands with the opposition a minute before the final whistle when his team are winning.

So trying to get into the box and score is disrespectful now?

But he wasn't doing that, he was taking the piss out of of Bilbao knowing that they're 3-1 down and likely to be dejected.

What was wrong with him carrying out a normal dribble like he had done the rest of the match?

That isn't sportsmanship.

I get how it can be seen as disrespectful, but how is it any different to attempting a couple of step-overs and putting the ball through the opposing players legs?

Because that's a natural piece of skill and is more effective than an overhead flick hence why you rarely never see anyone do it.

Buncha crybabies imo*

*I don't have a problem with the first guy who shoved him down rather than get beat, but acting all butt-sore after that is really poor sportsmanship....

Whether it's disrespectful is a matter of divided opinion. Although it is goading the opposition, and if you do that then some players will 'take you out' for it.

I know I would, and a few others on here who have played at any level would too. It's part and parcel of the game.

Would you then run around trying to start a fight with him too?

Surely their reaction was just because he dived as soon as the trick failed, or am I missing something?

No, both managers complained about him trying a bit of skill, and whinged about it after. That includes Luis Enrique.

Ridiculous.

It's called football and its called skill. The two go together. If you don't like it go play rugby.

The reaction was poor. Sore losers.

It takes the piss? I'm sorry, its skill, you don't ike it, becomes better players.
He wasn't sticking his tongue out and grinning, he tried a trick and it likely would of worked had he not been shoved.

The reaction of the Atletic players is purely due to their frustration at losing.

Pathetic and yes, I have been on the end of some sound drubbings in a multitude of sports where the opposition have felt relaxed enough to try something a little bit more special. So what. You obviously don't like it at the time, but anyone would have thought Neymar spat at him.

I don't see it as disrespectful to be honest. If they get the ball past you, they've mugged you no matter how it's attempted. Fair play to him for attempting it - he'd have embarrassed himself if he'd completely fucked it.

Playing 5 a side the other night I brought the ball down on my chest and back heeled it toward goal. I missed but was told "don't take the piss mate"

I just told him to man up and learn it's a man's game, I'll try and beat you any way I can (within the rules), I don't complain if a step over beats me, I try and win the ball back.

All I see here is a bunch of over paid prima donnas doing something I'd love to, but getting paid a tonne to do so.

Grow up I say

Just some butthurt neanderthals who are pissed off that Neymar has more talent in a stray pube then they have in their whole body.

What a bunch of ****s.

They should be lucky they weren't playing in the R9 (Ronaldo) era. He would have humiliated them for 90 minutes.
