We have been linked with him (albeit not this season) so wasn't sure whether this should go here or general. The link is here

I'm just bringing this up now as according to some reports Newcastle are going to sign him for 3m. I know his another short arse but he is only 23 and has 26 dutch caps

With Jol managing Hamburg a deal could be reached with us. Has any ITK's got news about whether we are still interested?

He's not been linked with us in the current window, so General Football it is, bubble.

As I recall, we were linked with him when he was playing right back at Ajax, a position where he has most of CL and Dutch caps. He has only been playing DM for a couple of years. Not sure if he's much of an improvement on Teemu.

He's alot stronger that Teemu, and alot more aggressive. Did a fantastic job for Holland in the Euros, he was the player that gave them the defensive stability to play attacking football. Also bare in mind that Holland had a pretty poor back 4.

De Jong would definitley be worth a shout, however i can't see Hamburg letting him go for £3m...more like £8m and then at that price maybe not the best option for us.

De Jong has revived his career as a DM at HSV. Well worth the money. Stronger and faster than our lot. More tenatious ball winner too. I would easily take him at 3 over Veloso at 23.

he's a younger Davids, definitely worth a punt at 3 mill. Was great at the euros
