This sitting back at the end of the game is not working. Particularly when we are not that strong under the high ball. Teams just lump it into our box and we shit our pants. We just lost to Norwichs second string FFS.

I've drunk a bottle of wine so am kind of numb. However, it's just hit me - we've lost to Norwich's B Team. Bad.

after over 10 games in the shirt, i now worry about sigurdsson and dempsey.

They are looking like really bad buys:cry: Not even seeing hints of quality, but alas there is still plenty of footy to come and time for them to impress.

on the positive our boy hugo looked good

The problem for Dempsey and Sig is that they need flair players around them so they can finish off the moves the flair players start. Both are like Lampard, not a lot of flair (to be fair Sig can be very creative at times) but good finishers (even Lampard has missed penalties).

It's not completely their fault. We need Dembele back..hell I'd consider playing Carroll more often.

Now this one I can explain quite easily, we can't defend set pieces because we can't practise defending them as we don't have a player capable of taking a corner for the defenders to have to deal with in training, 3 different people had at least one go 2nd half, they either didnt beat the first man or the ball didnt even land on the pitch, how the fuck can you not take a corner?? my 11year old lad can take a better corner, it isn't fucking hard !! (but seems like ever since we have been any good at set plays).

Yet we had some good corners at the end when we needed a goal, must be a psychological thing.

Gutted about the loss, but there were positives.

Thought Lloris was fantastic and his pro-active style of keeping impressed me very much. AVB has to start him in the future.

Carroll was great. Vision, good passing, keeps the ball well. Could see midfield of Dembele, Sandro and Carroll.

Falque was probably our best player bar Bale. Was really impressed with him.

And finally Bale. Amazing performance, too bad we didn't have a proper striker up front.

In the end we were unlucky not to get a win.

Spot on.

No shit Sherlock!

Absolutely pointless signings.

Dempsey in particular is a disastrous signing. Fucking pathetic player. He is shit.

To be honest, will any of us be talking about this if Arsenal lose to United and we beat Wigan on Saturday. We'll be five points clear of them and guaranteed to be above them for the derby.

However. I'm gonna just say it. I hate the football we're playing. It's terrible viewing...

This should ramp the pressure up on AVB again a bit and I'd welcome that. I'm not calling for his sacking, but I'd like to see plenty of pressure on him to be much more daring and much more attacking. We're incredibly boring to watch at the moment, and it stems from the tentative and cautious approach of the manager. He's fundamentally negative for a majority of games with his selection and subs. Despite our 4th place in the league, we look unconvincing in victory, worse than unconvincing in defeat, with little happening up front and almost no creativity. We don't have to always play with two holding midfielders and one striker - or no strikers!

AVB is the one who rattles on about taking competitions seriously and winning trophies, but he's absolutely boring the pants off us in the League Cup and the Europa this season and the league position is much more flattering than the performances.

He's 14 games into his reign...and I'm not enjoying the pattern he is developing in the games...and you've identified that pattern. We are Spurs, Super Tottenham from the Lane...not a fucking dull-ended Georgy Graham pile of pants..but we're in danger of becoming that. As you say...we have ZERO creativity about us - Sigs, Dempsey ---both not up to scratch...so we rely on Bale (Who is direct and brilliant but not creative) - We miss MOdders and VDV - no doubt and we've not replaced them well.

January beckons! Jezuz...

The thing that is bothering me about AVB right now is his stubborn attitude to things that do not go well (that's how I perceive it anyway)

The failure to make the switch to Lloris after the man u game seems illogical and stubborn, as does his persistence with the tactic of hyperdefending to hold on to the lead when we've not once looked comfortable doing so.

It seems also to have been his undoing (in some part) at Chelsea and I genuinely fear for his time with us the way things are going

I'm not trying to moan, or knee jerk (in all honesty I don't care that much about the cup) but I am seriously worried about AVB and whether things are going to go his way with us.

I don't think he was helped by the transfer market activity either but it seems to me he fails to adapt to things when they're not working

Arsenal 4-0 down and still believe they can win, we go 1-0 up against similar oppo and fuck it up including missing a penalty. What a shit midweek. Hope they draw chelsea away or hopefully Man u, bet Chelsea win that one now though, just one of those weeks.

I wish people would stop banging on about being unlucky. That is not an 'unlucky' result. It's a shit one.

Mate, they are fucking atrocious. I don't usually slag Spurs players off but these two (CLINT in particular) just take the piss.

By its very nature, luck is something which cannot be manufactured. Sorry to be pedantic, but 'you create your own luck' pisses me off almost as much as 'it all evens itself out'.

At Siggy has time on his side and has shown glimpses. Dempsey has looked horrendous.

dear Tottenham,

a football match lasts for 90 minutes. it helps if you play well for this entire time period. that's all, bye!
