There is no point signing another right footed player to play on the left, if we're gonna do that, may aswell stick Lennon there and put Bentley on the right.

Downing offers more collectively than Young, Young just gets noticed more because he's quick.

I guess we're all guilty on fixtating on one name, i proposed a brainstorming where we can elect a new LM...

...But I really like the freedom Modric has by playing on the left.

It depends if Giovani stays really. I think he's best on the right. I'd like to see us go with Downing (for Bentley), Modric, Lennon and Giovani next season. Signing Downing is just a case of getting a natural left sided player. Although the only problem is, its an expensive option really. I'd prefer to see us pick up a bargain left sided player as backup. But with those options we would have a natural left and right midfielder, and wide players who come infield onto their favoured foot (Modric in from the left, Giovani in from the right). So it gives us good options.

What about resigning Steed, if Sunderland goes down?

Not a naturally left-sided player, but would be cheap and we know he can do a job for us.

Wouldn't even need much (any) time to settle in.
