I see Gomes still seems to pass the ball out without telling the defender he's passing to him, lol.

Well impressed with Livermore, a clear upgrade on Jenas - young, strong, good passer, gets stuck in, wears his heart on his shirt and more importantly, he looks a good player.

Leave it 10/15 mins and bring Townsend on for Bale and concentrate on attacking down the right ... would like to see Lennon get more involved.

What about his assist for Livermore.

Give the man a break:grin:

he's played well indeed, very well taken goal, didnt smash it just passed it into the net which was refreshing as he was snatching a hell of a lot last season.

but just needs that bit of awareness to know that shift and shoot isnt always going to work when you are surrounded, especially since alot of defenders in the prem league know that's what he is going to try. he could add an extra 5 assists or more per season if he looked for his partner when in a situation when he feels he can get a shot off

unfortunately for him and maybe fortunately for us he will probably find his chances quite limited again this season

Harry interview on ITV4.

"I'm desperate to keep Modric here"
"I want to win a Championship here"

Different day, different story, probably forgotten what he said yesterday, I don't know why people care so much.

I'm sorry, joining the thread late.

How on God's green earth is this any different to what he has said previously?

to be honest brett, i would bet steak dinners that JJ would look world class against these lot

I cant remember the last time i've seen jenas play a first time pass. Livermore is actually a more intelligent footballer than him.

Livermore has been fantastic. Deserves to be ahead of Jenas, imo.

I have spoken to Derby and Ipswich fans and they all said he was shit for them. We are playing a team that if in England would be league one team boys...get a grip!

Can't remember us playing like this once last season. Lets hope we can re-create this type of play with the passing and movement in the league against tougher opposition. Brilliant stuff thus far.

modric slows us down

i love all this chat of livermore being ahead of jenas just cos he's had a decent 45 against HEARTS, who wouldnt survive in the championship, and is surrounded by ridiculously good players like vdv, bale etc.

Didnt realise Livermore was so comofortable on the ball. Happy to pick it up with players tight around him.

Pass and move from him, kranks and vdv has been great. Platform for pretty much everything we've done.

Defoe took his goal well and general play been good but when he's near the opposition box he doesn't half turn into a greedy little bugger. What's new there. :)

Roll on the second half!

seriously jenas has played extraordinarily well and scored against some of the best teams in europe. Jake has done well but hearts are beyond rubbish

Is your head still in the Wierd Story thread? :)

With you on Livermore, he was excellent that half. He must be loving playing football like that with the first team.

Passing the ball around we look outstanding so far and the players look to have a real understanding. Slot Modric into this game and we'd be 6-0 up by now, but even without him, Kranjcar and Livermore have looked perfectly accomplished. It's a pairing that could do pretty well against some of the 'lesserl teams we usually struggle against. Why not, after this?

By fortune or not, Harry's done well to give Livermore his chance tonight and it's paying off in spades. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of him this year.

OMG, I see we forgot to practice defending corners in pre-season. Gomes needs to grow a pair.
