There is no shame in admitting one is wrong when it brings a smile to your face!I'll be bloody ecstatic if I'm wrong on this one and he turns out to be a hit.
Sissoko will respond well I reckon!

So you are wedged on the fence then............For me last season we lacked pace and guile. I think that pace helps us more in big matches and on big pitches like at Wembley, whereas guile helps us against weaker teams, especially in those frustrating matches at WHL.
So I'm going to say
Big Games/CL - HIT
Other games - MISS
Of course Im going to get slated for this but I fear something far worse. Us once again going back to the AVB situation, us signing a lot of players with questionable attitudes/who dont have any affinity making up our squad(not our first team), who wont fight for the club when the situation doesnt go their way and if they get dropped wont be happy bunnies.I feel that we're in danger of putting together a team of try hards who want to kick the defensive door down, but are incapable of picking the lock when that tactic fails to produce results. For that reason I, like many others, would have loved to see Isco come in, a player capable of picking the lock, of getting his head up when it matters and producing the perfect through ball.
It's not Sissoko's fault that he isn't Isco, and perhaps it isn't our fault at all that we couldn't make that signing happen, but I remain dissapointed that we have ended up blowing our load on a player who is going to contribute to more blood and thunder bluster, but little in the way of actual final third quality.
If he proves me wrong, great, but I think he'll flop.
One things for sure, hit or miss, Levy will sell him for a profit one day.
apparently went out clubbing in MK and over done it, something along those lines I picked up in the transfer forum over last day or 2
Bit different tbf. Lennon spent 9 years with us, breaking through as a teenager and spent essentially his whole prime with us. Sissoko is already 27. Not really a fair comparison.
That was me, glad to be wrong about that one.Go back to the thread, there were definitely quite a few. Some even said he was worse than Fazio.
i also don't understand why, if we wanted this type of player, powerful/direct, we didn't go after Breel Embolo, 7 years younger and about 14m cheaper (and less wages).
He looked terrible at the Euro's. Personally I'm glad we didn't go for him.
I get your point, BC- however there is a sense that we can't keep buying potential, that the squad needs more experience to lead on the pitch. I've read your posts about us buying Sissoko and understand your concerns. I think this is Poch's biggest test of his career: can he turn around an expensive, inconsistent yet talented player to become a vital part of the Tottenham machine, one that adds a new dimension and makes us more successful. Interesting times; if Poch succeeds he cements his stature even further in the club, if he fails Levy becomes less willing to listen to him over transfersi also don't understand why, if we wanted this type of player, powerful/direct, we didn't go after Breel Embolo, 7 years younger and about 14m cheaper (and less wages).
Have you ever been to MK it's enough to drive anyone to drink.
Only just 27 if we had signed him three weeks ago we would have gota 26 year old for 25m?
Harry Kane & Alli looked terrible at the Euros so should we now sell them off?He looked terrible at the Euro's. Personally I'm glad we didn't go for him.
I thought he was bloody awful today. Lazy, poor 1st touch, lacked concentration and no end product. What does he do? Doesn't read the game well either, just an athlete. Reminded me of Jenas. Will never make it with us. Waste of money. Drop him or we'll be lucky to finish mid table
Cut n paste where necessary in the next few weeks for those supporters in the West Stand etc etc...
