This is the case. I'm not concerned about his attitude. I think most of it is Barca spin tbh. You can't ignore his injury record though, it's abysmal.

Add to that Barca are beyond desperate to get him out. I'd happily see him stay there to compound their financial issues. I've never thought a club has deserved to go to the wall until these *****.
Oooh.... Real Madrid more for me.

Surely Barca would pay a huge chunk of those wages.

Maybe we'll wait to really late and if they still haven't shifted him we'll propose a deal heavily stacked in our favour?

The key factor in all of this is what does Ousmane want especially in a world cup year. Sit on the bench, go to a team on a new contract, or go as a mercenary for 6 mos to a situation where he can shine. For Spurs, the 3rd scenario could be a win if the numbers are right. and we would have 6 mos to convince him to be part of the project

This is going to turn into another Tanner thread which was a bit embarrassing. People talking like they know the people and debating what being a good God fearing boy should be.

It won't happen because of wages anyway so...

There is no doubt that Dembele is an awesome talent, but it would be naive to think that we could move any player on easily if we are paying them 200K plus a week. Another thing to learn from Ndombele.

Clubs across europe are in financial trouble and the number of clubs who can or will consider those type of wages is diminishing rapidly. It's always the wage bill which strangles the bigger clubs in the end and something we are now starting to see as we increase our own post stadium build.

Look the unfortunate but real situation is that we need to get players who have the talent but perhaps arent performing. If Dembele was fulfilling all his potential and talent, we would have no chance of getting him and same for or any other player - we arent dining at the very very top table. So we need to go for them when theyre not fulfilling that and hope Conte can unlock it and get him in line.

So im all for this. At 18m its relatively risk free - i mean we spent far worse on players

As much as I would Keegan love to see Barca and/or Real Madrid go out of business (it would be beautiful). I think Dembele could have something to offer this season

Another reason for us not to sign him is that it'll allow Barca to sign Aubameyang, meaning Woolwich will definitely sign a striker.

Please, just no.
Oh come the fuck on, I dont give a shit about the bellends down the road. Jesus wept. You need to get out more.

If we lost out to Barcelona on the Traore deal which leads to us taking Dembele from Barcelona I suggest the wheel of life just turned our way.
If we get him and come out ahead on the finances too, even better.
Plus we've already got a song for him haven't we?

It's all a bit weird.

We're signing two Juve squad players so they have enough money to sign our Number 1 target.

We're signing Dembele so Barca have space to sign our Number 2 target.

Perhaps Paratici is a machiavellian genius and this was the real plan all along...

I know you're joking but in the spirit of end of window lunacy I'm considering "we're signing dembele" to be confirmation of a done deal

We are talking about a player who 3-4 years ago was only behind the likes of Neymar and Mbappe for best young talent in world football. Would still consider him one of the top 50 footballers in the World based off his ability. You have to go for him. I think Conte and Hugo would sort out any attitude issues.

How did his catalogue of injuries start though is what I want to know. He could always have problems or it could be a bit like Bale at Madrid where sure he’s got niggles and injuries but he’s just so fed up he wont play. Bale came here on loan and those pretty much cleared up. He would have played more had Mourinho let him. Basically what I’m saying is, if he comes he might still get injuries but he might play more than he does now because he’s more motivated to.

And Barca want to move on Dembele to be able to afford to take Aubameyeng on loan. I‘d rather arsenal have another Ozil situation on their hands to be honest than sign this very good but injury prone player.

Sounds as though Chelsea (think Tuchel had him at Dortmund) and Utd also have an interest in him. Much more likely to end up at one of those two.

Dembele would leave anyway, Aubemeyang would go there anyway.

Besides, Arsenal are going to spunk 70m on Isak, a player who has only scored 4 goals this season.

It'll go down like the Pepe deal

Don’t want him, because I think he’s a lost case, and there are also huge question marks over his agent, but just to add: he HAS played a bit as a RWB for Barca this season. Against poor sides where the RWB role is more or less like a winger, but still. Could see Emerson vs the good sides and Dembele against the likes of Burnley and Norwich? Don’t see him in the Moura/Son role in 523; he needs to be played out wide where there is space for him to move. But might work out as a «beat the offside trap striker» in 532?

guess United is the obvious choice, with the greenwood story breaking.

I think this was always the plan for traore to be fair.

Arsenal are supposedly going to spend 70m on Isak.

it's got Pepe written all over it.
