@BenSmithBBC: I'm told Southampton have completed the signing of Roma and Italy striker Pablo Osvaldo for a club record £15m.
Joe Pagnelli @joepagnelli 38m
#Osvaldo to#Southamton for €18m + €2m bonus agreed. Osvaldo also agreed to terms (€4m/year) but awaiting signature. (via@dimarzio)
Excellent signing for them, although he is a little crazy. Would have liked him at Spurs, but at that price, and Soldado obviously being our no.1 striker, maybe it was best he went elsewhere.
Curious if this will affect any deal regarding Lamela
It will as he's their golden boy and the Osvaldo sale massively lessens any need for further sales.

You mean like Bale is our golden boy and we don't need to sell?
Willian or bust?
I'm sorry, but there really was not any need for us to sign this guy. He would hate being 2nd choice, he would not fit in our system and he is nearly 28, whereas we would probably want a young striker.
This does not affect any Lamela deal IMO.
Not overly disappointed he's gone to Southampton. Maybe their spending will finally make people realise the amount we're spending has no relation to Bale.
