Osvaldo is a seriously talented player. Really good signing for Southampton, a team which I think will surprise a lot of people this season. Wouldn't be surprised to see them as a cheeky outsider for a Europa League slot, in fact I might check the odds on that.

Although i haven't seen too much of him, i can't help but feel we dodged a bullet.

Good luck to him (except against us)

Southampton were very good in the second half of last season. Didn't always get the results they deserved (outplayed Utd at Old Trafford) but showed that, with a few signings and more time to bed in their pattern of play, they will be threatening the European places this season.

From what I've seen and heard, I really rate Pochettino. Can't have been easy coming in under the circumstances that he did - especially since he apparently spoke little English.

If AVB were to leave, for whatever reason, Pochettino would be near the top of my list of potential replacements. Might not be easy to get him, though, since Saints are a club on the up and backed by a multi billionaire owner.

It is really not. Great signing for them, but he is disruptive and wasteful.

He took a Totti penalty, all the problems were after that as the team took sides. Not as disruptive as people are guessing, I guess.

Yeah there are lots of these sorts of rumours. The one continuous factor though is that he is a tool. If he wasn't Roma wouldn't be letting him go for 15 million.

They are letting him go because he upset Totti by taking his penalty. Every player who has upset Totti has then been sold asap. Totti rules in Rome. That's all there is to it.

He has got history of being aggressive but what signed his death warrant at Roma was daring to take one of Saint Totti's penalties. He's a very good player and one that I'd have preferred to Defoe or Ade as a backup option for Soldado. Nonetheless, the guy has moved to another club so we'll now get to see whether we dodged a bullet or not. I hope he does well for them, but only from an Italian national team perspective.
