Poch certainly not happy about it. Hope he gets to choose his replacement

Not sure what to make of those quotes. Surely if he's already taken another job there would be no point in playing out the transfer window and the "seeing what happens" as Poch has alluded to?

Could be. But however Levy has done this , it definitely looks from appearance and Press reports , that Levy has estranged a valuable member of staff to the extent that he walked out . Difficult to present Levy as perfect in this situation , but never underestimate the BSODL....

We don't know he is a valuable member of staff, plenty can fulfil his role. It sis not for the club t change their transfer policy just to suit a member of staff. it for him to embrace our policy. He isn't the loss some are trying to paint, he didn't score 50 goals a season.

Maybe Mitchell is cut out to be anything more than a data scout.

So you don't think Levy was involved in the first set of negotiations and subsequent agreement? Mitchell has nothing at all to do with negotiations or finances.

We don't know that, he was to replace Franco baldini we were originally told so that involves begotiating. If the reports are tight that he has upset agents then he certainly has been involved in negotiations.

What is clear is the the first and second negotiations are not from the same person. They are too vastly different.

Poch seems pissed with Mitchell, not Levy

I don't think the prices agreed had anything to do with Mitchell, Levy is not going to give away the financial negotiation side to Mitchell or anyone else.

We have a team who negotiate, Levy doesn't do it all anyway.

McDermott got given most of Baldini's portfolio when he got promoted in February. Poch has then taken more of it since he was promoted from coach to manager. Maybe those two were just squeezing out Mitchell?

Doubt Poch was. Baldini used to do negotiations, he negotiated for Soldado for instance ad once initial negotiations were done and a rough deal sorted it got handed over to Levy.

The N'Koudou deal looks like this has happened and Levy has said you must be joking effectively.Who did the initial negotiation, Mitchell? Mackenzie?

i don't see that side taken over by mcDermott and Pochettino but agree that it takes some of the role away. It is to the future we now look and have to decide how we replace the two, is it with one or two people? Do we have a data analyst and a Director of Football? Do we just have two heads of departments?

Mitchell was caught having sex with a photocopier.
Sheets of top secret paper got inadvertently stuck together as a consequence Mourinho was accidentally sent a list of our transfer targets.
The photocopier has been dismissed and will be put on gardening leave.
I understand that Mitchell and machine will join forces with Iain Webb, Spurs fan and Premier League partnership manager.
A Mitchell and Webb thing.
This is what will happen.

Mitchell and Mackenzie are data moles. They don't ever see daylight

We're doing far less transfer now than during the turmoil years, so perhaps Levy is doing them all personally.

Pochettino does sound more annoyed with Mitch than Levy and perhaps he has gone elsewhere for the money, or perhaps he thinks Mitch is being unreasonable with Levy. If there is any truth the didn't see eye to eye, maybe it is that Mitchell thinks we should be going in a particular direction but that the club had never planned or suggested it would go that way. (A bit like when you can see the potential of doing something different at work, but no-one above you is willing to back you or spend the money etc.) In those situations it's hard to apportion blame and we just have to move on and hope we put in place a structure which remains able to identify suitable players for Poch.

#thfc Pochettino says he is "very disappointed" with Paul Mitchell's decision to leave. Full quotes to come shortly.

We'll if Poch is disappointed then so am I. Like a few have said, in the grand scheme of things this isn't a major setback but the reasons why he is leaving could be worrying which ever way people try and paint it. It's rather odd. The timing of it all but yet he's not leaving just yet. You cant help but worry.

You have it mixed up, if a guy in the recruitment department is taking a job elsewhere, the club would make sure his future employment does not happen until the transfer window closes. Otherwise he might go to his new club with a list of our choice transfer targets and that new club would have a chance to usurp us - no club would willingly risk that.

What transfer targets ? We've been repeatedly told we're done after/if gkn signs

Why, what can you do?
If I can't make an effect on something what's the point of worrying over it?
I'm already grey so it wouldn't show if I did.
