I can see where this thread is going, but quickly let's just downgrade Comolli from decent to patchy. Modric, Bale have to be countered with Zokora, Bent, Bentley, Pav...

And not to mention the catastrophic decision to replace Jol with Ramos.

I may be mistaken A&C , can't be arsed to check , but didn't you write a poem or song lyric in the transfer thread that semi predicted this Marseille player outcome...
Possibly..........I vaguely remember writing something about Levy having an op to have his fart gland removed and replaced with one that went 'kerching' and him then lowballing Marseille, but that might have been about Batshuyi or whatever his name is......

£11m for an unknown while giving away a player for under £6m isn't a very good deal, no wonder Levy got involved and moved the goalposts, bloody good job he did. We are not here to simply pay what other clubs want and dish out wages we can't afford (Batshuayi) that would then affect our whole wages budget, with everyone else wanting parity.

People who can analyse data are ten a penny, people who can negotiate are not. Mitchell still has a lot to learn about the business side of football he is now in.
I don't think the prices agreed had anything to do with Mitchell, Levy is not going to give away the financial negotiation side to Mitchell or anyone else.

Ive decided to calm the f... down regarding mitchell. No disaster in him leaving. If he goes because of a money offer, so be it.
If there is anything in those news articles regarding him being fed up with us not signing Batshuayi for 35 mill and giving him 125k a week...then he can piss off. I hoped with would sign batshuayi but im glad were not the kind of club smashing our budgets for an unproven striker.

His job is just to identify targets I don't see why he would get annoyed, if anyone would it would be poch. But I don't believe we were in for Bat anyway.

I'm afraid it is not what any "good businessman would do". It's actually pretty shoddy business practice and ethics.

its a fact of life in business, if they are in need of funds, they are more likely to sell and sell at a cheaper rate.
Naive to think otherwise?
(im not saying i agree with it but just a realist)

On the upside, given our squad stability, this gives everyone something to get excited about. 6+ months of monchi rumours! "Monchi. Done"

Not denying that. However, taking advantage of another business's situation to get an asset at a lower rate is one thing. Reneging on a pre existing agreement in order to get one over on another business or individual is quite another. I stand by what I said in that it is very poor business practice.

All hypothetical of course because we may have done nothing of the sort.

Pochettino said: “I feel very disappointed with his decision. It’s his personal choice. You know we have a relationship from Southampton and I feel very disappointed but when some person takes some decision and it’s personal, what can I do?

“He is still working with us and will carry on. We’ll see what happens. We need to finish the three weeks working together and try to do the best business for the club. Then we’ll see what happens.

“Did I try to persuade him to stay? It’s obvious that’s what happened. But when you take your choice and personal things happen there’s nothing to do, only to respect his decision but carry on working.

“He’s with us, he’s in the office. Last night we shared a dinner with all the squad and he was with us. Nothing has changed for the moment, but this is the most important thing - that we keep working in the same way that we were before.”

Sounds to me like he's taken a job somewhere else then.

Ranieri gave a weird answer when asked about Mitchell in his press conference. Not that you'd think it would have anything to do with him should he be going to Leicester anyway.

I believe personal decision about as much as I do when a politician pulls out of an election, or resigns for personal reasons. Means something dirty has gone on 95% of the time. I call it as Mitchell sending dick picks, most probably to Levy's son.:D
