Let me get this straight, we've had a good quality player say he is happy to be at the club and is willing to fight for his place yet some of you are still moaning?

Surely we should be happy that Robbo wants to stay. How many teams would have such good quality depth at the goalkeeping position? Besides we don't even know if Gomes is going to make it in the Premier League, as some players just don't adapt to it.

I hope the arrival of Gomes is the kick up the arse Robbo needs to help him find his old form.

I think we ought to set aside the No. 1, let Gomes and Robinson choose different squad numbers.

Surely taking the number 1 from Robbo would be a further mental setback?

I also hope Robbo stays. I've felt that what he needs most is time out of the spotlight to work on his game. I know he had some last season, but
a) It came far too late, he should have been dropped earlier
b) Fans/media knew it was a temporary measure as Cerny was never seen as an alternative.

However, now that everyone views Gomes as the new "number 1", hopefully Robbo will get the break from the game he needs. Ok, maybe the media will start with the old "OMGZZZZ EX ENGLAND KEEPER UNWANTED BY ANY TEAMS" if he doesn't move, but they'll soon shut up. Also, by what was said earlier about what's going on for him away from the game, he probably needs a break from that too.

I remember a number of years back when Schmeichel had a couple of awful games, Sir Alex Ferguson sent him on holiday and told him to forget about football, and when he came back he was back to his old self. That's what Robbo needs. Time to forget about what has happened over the last couple of years, to get back to work on what he needs to work on, and the challenge of fighting to regain his position against a quality keeper.

Just because Ramos spent 8M on a next keeper, it don't mean hes gonna be the first choice. Did u expect him to buy someone rubbish

Would love nothing more than Robbo to regain the no 1 spot at the lane.......

I was walking down the High Road
When I heard footsteps behind me
And there was a little old man (Hello)
In Navy and grey, shuffling away (hehe!)
Well he trotted to White Hart Lane
And he shook the hand of Wendy (Oaah..)
With his massive hands on his tummy
Chuckling away, laughing all day (laughter)

Ha ha ha, hee hee hee
"I'm Heurelho Gomes and you can't beat me"
Ha ha ha, hee hee hee
"I'm Heurelho Gomes and you can't beat me"
Said Heurelho Gomes.

It depends on the type of person he is. The best thing that happened to David James in his recent career was getting dropped as England's number 1 and everyone viewed Robbo as the long term keeper.

He won't go anywhere that he won't be first-choice, and realistic options are strictly limited—really, just Boro are left, unless Guzan's WP falls through and Friedel leaves Blackeye. He might as well be back-up at Spurs as anywhere else.

There was an unconfirmed report that the reason he's not in Spain is that he's carrying some sort of injury.

According to physioroom.com we have no injuries.

Interestingly they have Ronaldo injured with Os Trigonum Syndrome whereas I thought he had Greasy Port Twat Syndrome :)

If Berba went then why would Robbo not go. Maybe the injury was true but maybe it is due to the surplus to requrements issue - which would be a disaster. I would b very suprised if Ramos saw Robbo as a liability. I know he loves the club dearly and would never walk out on us. He's have to be treated pretty badly, or have a rockstar ego - which I can't see at all.

C'mon Robbo. Stick with it.

The injury thing appeared without quotes in a Norwegian newspaper in a totally one-off, unrelated article about Oscar Jannson. With no other mention anywhere and my experience of lazy journos (personal experience, in fact  ), I am 100% convinced it is twaddle.

I must say I'm impressed by SS57's respect for foreign hacks compared to his view of their British counterparts, though.
