I'm going through the 5 stages of grief trying to work out how Poch feels about this, right now I feel like he's one unhappy bastard.

Makes me wonder.....Should a sitting manager have carte blanche regarding transfers? Obviously he should have a say, what he needs, who he wants. But he would never be the one traveling around making deals happen and so on. He has a preseason to focus on.
And (not thinking about Poch of course) I would not like that a manager has the power to potentially fuck up a clubs finances with stupid player shopping since managers come and go these days.

It hasn't done Klopp or Pep any harm getting to decide who the club signs, I think absolutely the manager should make the decision who we sign within reason of an agreed budget, I think if Poch isn't allowed that freedom then every top club in the world except Man City and Liverpool will be at his door offering it to him. I understand what you're saying in the big picture but I think in our specific case Poch deserves the right to call the shots.

I don't get what is stopping Man U from selling RL for a fee of around £60m to inter and using the money to buy Dybala.
Obviously I don't want this to happen.

Well he’ll get shitloads more wages at Utd. Haven’t they just starting paying Rashford £350k per week?

Dybala is much better than him so if his agents done his due diligence and knowing that he’s negotiating with Woodward (from the Peter Risdale school of contract negotiations) he may feel that he can treble his wages at Utd

Also from Juves perspective Utd have an asset that they want so it makes sense to try and deal with them.

By all accounts we don’t have an asset that they want

That's not how they do business.

They'll sell Lukaku and pay double for Dybala, plus £500k a week for no reason.

UNTIL TODAY. Nkoudou's cameo will have them all a quiver!

Man United need Dybala way more than we do. They are missing a class CF to lead the line with good runners around him, they should be going all out for this guy really.

I think the frustrating thing is that the teams who can and are in need of investment (Utd, Arsenal) are seemingly investing. Everton too, are looking stronger. Whilst we're only moving forward at a snails pace with one signing so far and no news of anything imminent.

Dybala isn’t going to lead the line

I disagree, in a team with pace like they have out wide i think he'd link up the play way better than Lukaku who is so average and you don't need a typical hold up big CF. Think Dybala would upgrade their attacking line massively, he's a way better finisher then what they have and way better technically then what they have.

Who would you prefer them to start this season with Dybala or Lukaku?

Dybala plays off a striker not as the main striker, he’s a better player than Lukaku I agree with that

When you see the money being spent by other PL clubs I just don't see how we can be at a situation of sell to buy with the likes of Lo Celso and especially Sessegnon. We may have broken our record but clubs like West Ham and Everton are getting near £50m themselves, on a fraction of our revenue and a worse wages to turnover ratio. Goons are splashing cash with no saleable assets and a huge wage bill, and also likely had lower revenue than us last year.

Massive 9 days ahead for Levy. Screw this window up and he should remove himself from transfers in future. If the stadium has restricted us then come clean. Being 'skint' certainly didn't hurt Woolwich in negotiations.

If he pisses Poch off enough to lose him then I'll never forgive that. Man do I need some positive ITK!

Just found this article that seems interesting and might be a guide as to his agent’s agenda on where the player moves to or why the stories have broken like they have. Seems like he’s been trying to orchestrate a move from juventus for months.

It’s from the 12 February

https://www.calciomercato.com/en/ne...t-has-infuriated-juventus-chief-marotta-26833

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has a new agent. His brother, Mariano, is now taking care of the player’s affairs and according to Corriere della Sera, it’s not took him long to get under the skin of Bianconeri CEO Beppe Marotta.

The journal writes that Marotta is furious with Mariano for travelling around Europe to seemingly offer his brother to the highest bidder.

His latest adventure has taken him to Paris where he has been in conversation with Paris Saint-Germain officials over a possible summer move.

Reported as saying that Paulo will; “Leave Turin and go where he wants,” Mariano has done little to try to build bridges with Marotta by his recent declaration that; “Neymar will go to Real Madrid and my brother will be the perfect replacement for him.”

Paulo signed a contract extension last April at Juventus which ties him to the club until the summer of 2022.

This can't be the case. He certainly wouldn't be mentioning that we have money for signings at the AIA deal announcement if we didn't. He very rarely mentions anything about financing playing staff, so for him to say that must mean there's some put aside.

I'm personally still not too concerned about signings. Lo Celso could move very quickly over the next few days, and Sessegnon isn't vital as he'll be slowly integrated. If that's deadline day then so be it.

Keeping Eriksen, Toby and Rose has to be sorted out sooner rather than later however.
