Back up to Vorm, never gonna play, still young for a keeper and has time to improve. If you don't spend much time watching a keeper you will only ever see their publicised mistakes.

Whatever, as others have said it is probably a cheap fill in for Lopez till his contract is up and it means our young keepers get more game time in the youth squads or out on loan.

Yeah, but one keeper is the captain of his nation and one is our bargain bin pau Lopez alternative
Just saying, it annoys me when people do this with keepers. It's like showing individual clips of outfielders missing a chance or giving the ball away.

Why waste £2m on a woeful keeper when we could have had Lopez, a highly rated u21 international for not a lot more. It makes absolutely no sense other than just another example of throwing money down the drain on 3rd raters.
Why assume everything?

Why don't we just use our youth keepers as third choice? Instead of wasting time and spending money (which as we all know Levy doesn't like to do on players in the first place) on more rubbish. Also isn't there a rule in place which if for some freak reason Lloris and Vorm got injured we could bring in another keeper on a emergency loan?

Poch wants a senior 3Rd choice keeper, they were both born in the same place, just one of his boys really, he won't play so I don't seem the harm

When you wait a year for a signing and then it's a sub goalie from Southampton.

Didn't he spend last season on loan in Spain? Any avid La Liga watchers see much of him??

Seems a waste when A) We could seemingly sign Pau for like £2m more...and B) we have keepers like Whitman, Glover and de Bie who all show signs of promise, and C) we may as well have kept McGee as 3rd string...

Only other thing I can add is whenever I have seen him play for S'ton, I hear his name pronounced "Gazza-N'Jie-a" (No word of a lie)...guessing that commentators would be uncomfortable pronouncing his name as its spelt...in the same fashion as the "Wilfried Bonny" treatment..because heaven forbid should they say Bony on Television...

Third choice keeper probably the only thing standing between us and the Champions League, make it happen Levy.

2mil for a goalkeeper thats barely kicked a ball in a proper match his entire career. No wonder we scared to spend when we keep making decisons like this and sissoko.some of our transfer dealings in the last couple of seasons have been shambolic

McGee just got his first taste of playing each week for a whole season, no way would he want to go back to being 3rd choice.

Pointless imo. Should have kept McGee as number 2 behind Lloris, given him cup minutes and groomed him to be our new number one when Hugo goes. If we seriously want to use our academy graduates in the future, letting promising keepers go is ridiculous. I've seen far more that's impressive about Luke than quite a few other much vaunted outfield youngsters who are supposedly our next big thing.

Gk's are tricky for development, it always comes to a point where they need consistent minutes and games to fulfil potential. As the position least likely to succumb to injuries and rotation a young keeper inevitably needs to leave for the sake of their career.

Considering we always go on about fact we can't afford to pay our top players 150-200 grand a week spunking £2m + wages on this guy seems ridiculous. He's absolute shite, like seriously bad. We're better off having a youth team player as 3rd choice and saving our money.
