Let's face it though, if we had got taken over by the Abu Dhabi lot our fans would be just as bad, probably worse....
Agreed. I like to think thought that there will still be fans, like you and I, with a level head.

I know it's very early days but the key difference i feel between us and teams who have challenged the top 4 in the past like Villa and Everton is squad size. King and Woody out we play Dawson and Sea Bass. Lennon out we play Bentley, Keano out we play Pav or Crouch. We definately have a better bench than most of the EPL. Beat Brum next week and thats 12 points from first four games, then it gets tough next month with Utd and Chelski.

Agree that we do have a better squad than Villa and Everton.

I also think that perhaps the major differance, especially this season, is the fact that unlike those two clubs, we have'nt sold or lost our best players.

There are a lot of good posts on there stating that we are their main contenders. However, like every other football forum there are some clueless posters as well.

they havent got a big enough squad and dont provide enough competiton for places , corluka gets injured there screwed , modric gets injured ,there screwd , defoe injured there screwed.

This poster has failed to realise that, according to wikipedia, our squad is bigger than Man City's. The comment about our squad not providing enough competition for places is rubbish. We have Bentley and Lennon competing for the right wing spot. Jenas is going to have to battle it out with Huddlestone for a spot in the central midfield. And our central defence is brilliant. Most teams would love to have King, Woodgate, Bassong and Dawson. We have Carlo Cudicini as a back up for pete's sake. They have Stuart Taylor. I know who I would rather have.

Corluka's backups are Hutton, who was targeted by Fergie as his future replacement for Gary Neville and Chimbonda who was voted the best right back in the Premier League a few seasons back. So we would be fine without Corluka for a while.

Keane has scored over 100 goals for this club and is the Republic of Ireland's all time top goal scorer, you don't do that if you are a crap player. Pavlyuchenko was named in the team of the tournament for Euro 2008 and is highly regarded by one of the greatest managers in the history of football Guss Hiddink. Whilst Crouch has shown he's capable of scoring in the Champions League and was Liverpool's top scorer in 06-07. That is not bad back up to Defoe.

I admit we could have problems if Modric gets a serious injury but that's true to every football team. If Barca were to lose Messi they would suffer, if Chelsea lost Lampard they would miss the valuable goals he scores, Liverpool would be in trouble without Gerrard, etc. Every team suffers when they lose a world class player.

Our squad may not have the big names like Man City but I bet it will be a lot easier for Harry to keep his squad happy.

Ive just posted on thier shite, wonder what response ill get....
Being called a rag is a common one. They're also big Spurs haters. Reading that forum, and I've been on it for several months, you'll easily come to the conclusion that City have the most oafish fans on the planet. It's like half of them live in caves.

Can I just say:-

That I'm proud to be one of those 'horrible' Tottenham fans,

Man City have been crap since the great Joe Mercer left,

There is only one Ricky Villa and

Man City used to be our 'Bogey' team. Especially with cheating little shits like Francis Lee putting the ball into the net with their hands!

(Anyone else remember that?)

I think Spurs have had such a good start for two key reasons.

Firstly, we had one debutant in the team for our first game. We've got a settled line-up that finished last season off on in pretty good shape and they have kicked on.

Secondly, the expectation is a little bit lower than perhaps it has been prior to previous seasons and this must help. Teams like City, Villa and Everton are expected to be there and there abouts and they will be under more pressure and scrutiny. What with the Ronaldo and Lescott sagas, City's millions and all of the other big stories in football, Spurs have managed to slip under the radar a little and go about their business.

Oh and I think I like beating West Ham almost as much as the Scum and Chelski.

"One or two injuries and they are fooked."

this is our second team (at the mo)
Gomes, Hutton, woodgate, dawson, bale, bentley, jenas, o'hara, gio, crouch, pav.

Nearly all internationals

EDIT: re post above

you karl? just read the post. reckon they're not gonna like it lol even though you tried to be kind at the end. All oppo fans hate us in the way that we hate/hated newcastle. They wont take proper notice of us until we actually achieve something. Despite our results, we are apparently "the new hull".

Ahh come on guys lets cut them some slack, they've had an even shittier time of it than us over the last couple of decades.:)

Personally I'd rather see them as champions this year than any of the usual suspects, they won't be of course but at least we know they are worried about us.

Let's face it Arsescum are hot shit this season. They're not going to be the ones to relinquish one of the top 4 places to us. Neither are Man U. Nor Chelsea. So Liverpool it is (and they're meant to be title contenders).

I think Manyoo and Liverpool are the weaker of the lot. A couple of key long-term injuries and they could be in trouble; wouldn't mind us and Citeh breaking in at their expense. Hopefully others will follow Burnley's example!

Fucking hell, just read the Man City thread on us, also browsed the West Ham forum for cheap laughs post match today, I hope this forum doesn't come across so badly to opposition fans reading it.

One of them flat out said De Jong is better than Palacios, as if it was no contest. Thick ****s.

Well, there's no point in comparing players or squads until the end of the season. Fans may be rather biased, but the table doesn't lie....

Arsenal are the same as every year. Fast out of the blocks and impressive, but they have no depth. None at all. And there young players can't handle a season. Even Arsenal fans are expecting them to fade from Christmas on.

Some really good posts on there

Rather have Crouch sitting on the bench for 9m (ish) than Santa Cruz sitting in the infirmary for over 17m!...

One I really like

They never faultered under Jol... they prospered.
In Response to
Apart from us, Spurs are the most likely to break the top 4. They faultered under Jol, but they'll do well this season.
