Pathetic slating of a player who works his socks off every game without fail, and contributes more in link up play and defensive duties than any other striker we have. He's never going to be Garincha, but he deserves our support, not scapegoating. :roll:

Crouch is a support striker. He's never going to do well on his own up front. Put him alongside an aggressive out-and-out striker and he fulfils his role admirably.

Working your socks off every week ain't going to win you games. Players who offer talent, skill, creativity, pace and power win you football matches.

Crouch actually has excellent control and is often the man on the edge of the box recieving the ball to feet and laying it off for Lennon, Bale, VDV etc. But because he's gangly, people assume he's clumsy and dismiss it. He doesn't have "a good touch for a big man", he has a good touch, full stop.

As for your last sentence, he helped us get 4th place and a CL spot last season, but never mind eh. Just dismiss me as 'deluded' if it makes you feel big and clever. :roll:

Really? Didn't do much of it in our poor results against West ham and Wigan did he? Not much today? We can never compete with the top teams, because we have dross like this. 1 good game in 3, is not enough to contribute to a top side, and we won't get in the top 4 this year, because city have improved a lot and we have stagnated. So while I keep paying my money, I'll continue to voice my displeasure at watching this lanky streak of piss, so the club invest that money in a forward who can kick a ball more than 10 yards.

I don't think Harry is an idiot or a shit manager because he picks Crouch. In Harry's defence he has no one else at the moment. Pav and Keane are marginal improvements, but not the answer.
Time to question Harry is when or if we get a top draw striker and Crouch is still featuring.

You guys are spoiled. Everyone can see that we are in desperate need of a top class striker but Peter Crouch is not the enemy.

He is the player who scored the goal that carried us to fourth, he is the player who helped us get into the CL grup stages and he is the player who week in and week out contributes his all in both defensive and attacking play.

Even if we had a Drogba or Berbatov in our team Crouchie would still be a fantastic squad player.
