If you don't pass this thread on to 5 friends, you'll all have bad face sex for the next 12 minutes.

Yeah.

Petitions/chain letters. Meh, they're all the same thing.

Good post though by someone, probably.

I find this a bit embarrassing tbh.

We should be well above the squabbles that West Ham and L. Orient are getting into.

I'm shocked that Spurs fans are happy to move to stratford. The amount of agro we give the gooners about coming from SL and then we happy to just give up on the new WHL and move. The OS might be 80,000 but it's not a football ground, the atmosphere would be shite. The new WHL is designed not to maximise the amount of people inside but the electric atmosphere.

Here's to preying I never have to drive to the OS to watch Spurs.

We are Tottenham, from the Lane...

Do you think any Arsenal fans give a shit that we say they are from Woolwich?

Even if we build a new stadium near the current ground it won't be called white heart lane anymore, so the song will still technically be incorrect....except for one thing WE ARE STILL FROM THE LANE, as that's of history/hertiage.

It won't matter if we move to Stratford, just the evoloution of our club. If we do end up making the move it will be done because it's the best thing for our club and give us the best chance of attaining long term success.

I am sure Levy would not make such a move unless it was by far the best thing for us to do and all other options to keep us in Tottenham had been explored.

As for atmosphere, generally we are relatively a quiet crowd (it's hardly a rock concert at the Lane) certain games the place is rocking but such is the nature of football a different demographic comes to our home games now and as a result the general atmosphere is not the same as it was in days gone by....this would be true of any new stadium be it in Tottenham or the OS.

Big games, exciting games would get the crowd pumping (and 80,000 people can make a noise regardless of the design of the stadium)

and moving from Tottenham to Stratford is hardly like the Dodgers moving from Brooklyn to LA is it.

It probably would make a very insignicant difference in travelling difference to the bulk of our crowd on a match day (not to mention the fact that we have a large following in the Essex area who would no doubt be closer to the new ground)

We all would rather stay where we are, but all this petition shit is crazy....our board have been in place long enough and have proved they have the clubs best interest at heart in my mind so I am confident that if they do move it will not be for the want of trying to make a move where we are work.

If Levy wants to move it will be because staying where we are would be holding us back in the future, would we really want to hold ourselves back just to stay on the Tottenham high road.

Personally I want want will be best for the club, if that means we up sticks and invade new terrority for our development viking style we doing that.

Great.
Blow our bargaining tool with Haringey Council out of the water so they can concentrate on neglecting children.

If we moved to Starford I really wouldn't care, It would take me a while longer to get to the games but then i would just leave earlier.

Would it though? For most fans it'll be quicker I reckon

Someone said most Arsenal fans don't give a shit that they're from South London. That's because most of them probably know nothing about the club pre-wenger!

Us moving 6 miles away is hardly the same as moving from South to North London either.

As I said it one of my other posts a large number of our fans attending games would either find it quicker to get to Stratford of have a fairly insignifcant time added to their journey.

As for me personally, yea it would probably take me a decent amount of extra time (as I am from far west london) If I drive to the ground it's fairly straight forward round the North Circ...driving to stratford would take me a good bit longer.

As for trains probably an extra half hour, but as I said I would just leave slightly earlier it wouldn't be a big deal either way and I am sure we would all be used to our new ground after 4-5 games.

Call it sentiment, call it stubborness, call it what you want, I don't want to move to East London. I don't care i would be easier to reach. I want to stay at the ground I have enjoyed so many great (and a fair few rubbish) times at. No matter what argument anyone brings up I won't change my mind

Not the response the OP was after I assume. Even worse is that after approaching all the main Spurs boards he has so far achieved 14 signatures.

The only thing he has achieved is producing a thread where everyone is polite and agrees with the Board's

PS Did like the comment on leaving Haringey Council to spend their budget on neglecting children. Most amusing!

I still think we should get it for our reserves just to piss off Wet Sham.

I think it's already been said but I'd never want us to go to the Olympic Stadium because I see us as a North London team, in fact I'd be unhappy if we moved anywhere other than where we are. But we're obviously using it as a bargaining chip to make sure the council wave the plans through so there's no need to get antsy about it.

Such a crass statement. I thought the posters on here had a bit more about them. Apparently not.

To be fair I'd always assumed that if Spurs moved then Haringey would go into the professional child neglect business. So I think we should change the petition to 'No to Stratford and No to Child Neglect'

Or, as you said, maybe we should concentrate on football rather than tarnishing an entire council based on one incident.

I prefer my method personally.

I'm sorry but I'm stopping myself short of ranting at this thread and here's why:

We all know that Spurs have had trouble with their ridiculous council in trying to sort the stadium out.

Each time Spurs threatened to move, the council cave in a little more and more knowing that the craphole that is Tottenham would die without the club.

After a massive fight, we finally start to get somewhere as a club, but it still needs approval from London fat cats.

Our board, knowing full well what a bunch of plebs the council are feign interest in the Olympic stadium knowing full well we have no real intention of moving there. The reason for this is so our council feel the pressure of trying to keep us in Tottenham and act on the club's side in hopefully swinging the London fat cats into approval for our new ground.

Unfortunately, the media went wildly overboard with our pretend olympic stadium bid making the bid look real as opposed to a pressure tactic, and to top things off, our local council, being even more retarded than we had ever realised, then run their mouths saying that we are twats for putting a bid in, when instead they should sit down and stfu and help us push for a new stadium within Tottenham if they know what's good for them.

To actually sign a petition stopping us moving to the olympic stadium which we all know we will never ever do nor do we want to do is actually detrimental to our club. The last thing the club needs is fan backlash to our pressure tactic on our local council. The media will have a field day on it, and the club will look badly run and indecisive, backed into a corner by fans, media and the council.

I urge everyone here to NOT sign the petition and for the petition to be removed.

Whilst I don't want to turn thus footy board into a child neglect discussion I don't believe it was just on isolated incident more just one very high profile incident which sadly ended in murder. Anyway back to football.......

I'm all for Stratford, living in Kent it will take 1/2 hour off our car journey.
We may even be able to get home by train on evening games without 4 changes and a taxi cause the last train from Charing Cross leaves at 10.
