I'm warming to the idea now. I actually think Stratford is a really nice place.

After games we could all go to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or the Motor Museum at Gaydon.

There's pretty good transport links from New Street and the M40 too.

Signed!

The target of 100,000 is ridiculous, I'd be very surprised if you got 10,000 even 5,000 would be hard to get unless you plastered it's link all over the net...

I got a petition on the official site and that only got 7,500 signatures...

There's a good crazy golf course in Stratford. Plus if you find the right place they do a mean tea and cake.

Other than that though I'd rather get stabbed in East London than go to Stratford.

We could change our nickname from Spurs to 'The Bards'.

We could also have a new fanzine called Willy Shakes.

I think the starter of this thread is a dodgy newspaper journalist fishing for a new headline.

If I drive to the ground it's fairly straight forward round the North Circ...driving to stratford would take me a good bit longer.

As for trains probably an extra half hour, but as I said I would just leave slightly earlier it wouldn't be a big deal either way and I am sure we would all be used to our new ground after 4-5 games.

I used to drive to Stratford a fair bit and I reckon it'd only take you another 15 mins. If it's easier to get out of, it'd probably be quicker than going to WHL. I don't know if anything's improved but when I drove it used to take me the best part of an hour to get to the great cambridge roundabout.

If you went via crossrail, it would probably take you less than 40mins from west London, you'd never do WHL to west London in that time currently.

No matter what argument anyone brings up I won't change my mind

I'm glad you're at least being open-minded

Call it sentiment, call it stubborness, call it what you want, I don't want to move to East London. I don't care i would be easier to reach. I want to stay at the ground I have enjoyed so many great (and a fair few rubbish) times at. No matter what argument anyone brings up I won't change my mind[/quote]

That is not one of my strong points when it comes to this subject Camaj. You can, quite frankly, like it or lump it!

Yea I get that too, but even if we build a new ground in a similar location White Heart Lane will still be gone so either way a new ground will be our home in the near future and White Heart Lane will be left in our hearts and memories.

It's just part of the evolution of our club, a natural progression. Football has got to the stage where we need 60,000 seats and more corporate boxes to generate the type of funds to enable us to compete with the big boys long term.

Anyway you cut it White Heart Lane is no longer up to the task, it doesn't have the potential to be developed up to standard either.

We need to build a new stadium and wheter that be in Stratford or Tottenham White Heart Lane will still cease to exist so the only things you would lose by moving would be the Tottenham area itself (maybe the 'Ken Dodd's dad's dog's dead' tag on the wall by the programe vans and your nostaliga for the salvation army site)

When I drive to Tottenham I usually park in an off road by the hospital just off the North Circular and walk over the railtrack bridge to the stadium to avoid the immediate traffic from the ground itself on the way back.

It wouldn't bother me how much longer it took me to get to the new stadium (if it even did take longer as you say) I would just leave slightly earlier (by the time you drive 40mins what difference does another 20mins make really?)

Fair point but it is still more than that. It's the boozers, the walk down the High Street, getting off at WHL station, the off licenses that let you buy booze at midnight (Jim you didn't read that). In one word it is the area. It may be a sh*thole but it's our sh*thole.

Stop thinking like a islander and start thinking like a great British explorer! This are might be their shithole but with our flags and greater business accumen it'll soon be our shithole. I'll trade you the OS for 10 cases of whiskey, 200 blankets (smallpox included) and 5kgs of shiny glass beads
