Also how do players like Sigurdsson get overlooked?

It's player of the year not player of the season.

So of 2016?

So why are they comparing this seasons stats on SSN. And not 2016's stats?

His goals to games ratio is ridiculous.
He has 4 premier league goals less than lukaku having played 8 games less.

He has more goals than Costa and Sanchez despite playing 6 and 7 games less respectively. It's phenomenal

Would be amazed if it's not Kante and Dele.
Judging how everyone in the media seems to be blowing off (I'll turn up against little teams) Hazard, I wouldn't be surprised if the media juggernaut influences this. This will give Real a massive hard on to get the Premierships so called best player, then Sanchez should move to Chelsea to replace him.
Tin foil hats ready!

With that logic, or any logic! Mane should be in the running for player of the season. A long long way ahead of Sanchez in my opinion. Can't see what he's done at all but Mane has been brilliant in nearly all games he's played.

Imagine him in our starting 11 instead of Sissoko #dontdoittoyourself

All will be fine next season when zaha comes in :)

It's player of the year not player of the season.

Then why do it in April of the year?!? Surely if it's player of the year you review Jan-December and award it in January.
If it's player of the year, in which case 2016, then Ibra shouldn't be in the list at all as he only came along in August.
It's blatantly player of the season...

It's player of the year, they cast the votes in January and announce them at the end of the season.

To be fair Ibrahimovic has carried united this season.

I dunno, I think his goals are obviously important, but I don't feel like he's been as good as everybody makes out. It's not like how he was in the French league when he was banging them in from all angles and distances - his movement etc is incredible, but I think Kane, Aguero, Lukaku, Sanchez have all been better than him. He's only scored one more goal than Dele and he's pretty much United's only striker.

If it is actually meant to be player of the year (2016) rather than season, I don't see how Ibra can be nominated having only been there since July. I think he's an amazing player, I just don't think he's been anything close to being the best in the league during his time here.

They really need to fix the YPOTY. How can Lukaku (and to a lesser extent Kane) be up for it? Lukaku's played over 300 professional games and 6 seasons in the premier league ffs.

Should change it to breakthrough player of the year, < 21 and can't have played more than 10 games in the league before.

I think the "Rookie of the Year" system in the NBA is pretty good, don't see why we don't just have something like that
