Issue we have now is that after this window we now have a lot more than 3 positions to resolve - how many windows will be needed now do you think?Fair enough, but executing the plan is only as good as the recruiter's judgement on player quality, not player quantity. We're not in a position to throw money at several options to see what works out. If they've not pulled the trigger on a CB, I'm ok with it since a poor CB, like Sanchez, sets us back for seasons more. We have executed the plan previously in terms of big money signings for key positions and they've been a disaster (examples in prior comment that nobody was unhappy about when they were signed). It's worse than signing nobody, because you've gummed up the works for upcoming windows by having high earners you can't shift.
Ultimately, it's a judgement issue rather than a numbers issue. I can't recall us ever sorting out 3 positions in one window ever. I don't know why anyone would think that could start now. If Porro kills it and that position is fully resolved, everyone should be more than happy with this window.
This club is going backwards because of the lack of due diligence and a strategic plan going into the last few windows.
The responsibility ultimately falls down to one man - Daniel Levy. Fine businessman, but not good enough to run a football club. A man with a vision, but no idea of how to bring to fruition. He has made bold decisions in some of the managerial appointments but is not brave enough to back their judgement or follow through on his decisions.
Last few windows we believed it might be different, he may have learned his lessons, he might listen to the manager or the fans. But sadly no - Daniel knows best, but its not the best for Tottenham.
