Good composure by Martial, Southampton need to move the ball quicker.

Martial is going to be world class, can't believe people actually mocked or questioned the sanctioning of this purchase.

Come on mate it was crazy money for a lad who at that time had only played 5 full games. Of course it had to be mocked. The crazy ones are the people who thought it was good business. It wasn't and still isn't. He's having a purple patch atm, but lets see how he's doing by the end of the season before going gaga. Overall I Haven't really been massively impressed by him, but he is putting away his chances.

I have seen him fair few times for Monaco and it was evident he was the real deal.

In today's market as crazy as it seems, I don't United will ever look back and rue paying what they did for him.

Of course nothing is guaranteed in football, you're right.

Already has 3 goals in less than 90 minutes of league football. Anyone who has been tracking him at Monaco knew that he was improving at an alarming pace as last season progressed and looked excellent for them in the Valencia CL ties. He's 19 years old and a devastating finisher with electric pace and dribbling. He'll probably score 15 goals this season and kick on from there.

Depay is anxious, he's trying too hard while Martial is letting the game come to him.

You do realize that he was a regular starter for Monaco after January last season and their best player, right? He was scoring goals at a fantastic rate once he displaced Berbatov. So the "only played 5 full games" bit is completely wrong. At 19 years old, 36 million pounds, even with a bunch of add-ons, in the current climate is nothing for United. They will probably hit 500 million pounds of revenue next season, so they can spend whatever the hell they want and be perfectly fine. Their alternatives were signing no one.

Mate I'm not saying they can't afford it, they obviously can, but that doesn't make it a good deal by any stretch of the imagination. If you think it was, great, I suppose only time will tell.

Sorry guys, I'm a bit behind in the Soton v ManU game but Clattenberg really is the king of wankers isn't he. How Schniederlin avoided a booking in the first half is mystery, then he pulls Mane back (55 min) and just gets Clattenberg doing his Ted fucking Rodgers 321 fingers wagging thing. Tosser.

My word. Liverpool are shit. And the place is quieter than the Emirates.

Yep, damn it, shame we couldn't have got a deal done at the end of last season. Still good to see our scouting team can at least find the obvious top talents out there.

No one mocked Man Utd for purchasing Martial the issue is, Martial will always be a poor signing because had they brought him before he signed his new contract they would of saved at least £20m

That is poor from their pov and lets be honest when it comes to transfer and negotiations Man Utd have been a mess

JJ said on Twitter that they wanted the same money for Martial (€50m) when we were interested, before he signed his contract.

Which is still about €20m less than what they paid for him plus he was constantly linked with a move away for about €25m-30m away from lyon from both french and british press

They paid an initial €50m. The rest is base on fairly obscene and unrealistic add-ons.
